sure...there are those who have been granted work permits...there are still those who aren't...how do you think they able to live? - hand outs.
Migrants who are not citizens cannot receive handouts as they don't qualify for it.
You are possibly referring to asylum seekers getting subsidized housing and some assistance during their first year.
That assistance is not enough to make a living.
So they work low end jobs or do Ubers.
So they are in the workforce.
So no, they are not living off of handouts and those handouts do not make up a significant portion of your expenses that it results in economic hardship to justify blame that Nazis resort to.

When times get tough economically, people start blaming immigrants/immigration.
Yes. But it's all a matter of numbers...

Getting 1 million immigrants in one year in Canada (with a population of 40 million) is too much. It pissed people off. Some out of racism but some, like me, out of anger because it's a lose-lose situation. We cannot integrate them correctly and we hurt ourselves...

Hatespeech censorship is justified.
It's a slippery slope, left creates hate speech censorship, it'll just give an eventual fascist government to take that to the next step.

I'd argue policies like this helped trump in America.

And contrary to belief the Democrats are not alt left, a true alt left radical will want exactly what trump is doing, so more people will come into the fold. It is also exactly what the radical right would want. They both want shit to get shittier to remake things.

I agree too much censorship will be a slippery slope like some argue it is in Germany.
But there are zero hate speech laws in the US.
In the US what people argue is censorship is really just consequences.
There are no laws prohibiting any kind of speech, including actual hate speech or bullying.
But when they get their accounts suspended they complain that it is a violation for their 1st amendment which it is not.

Define integration and how long that should take?
How is integration related to economic hardship that is brought on by several global factors?
I think he is not thinking deeply like that..

From people I've talked to the frustration is in the everyday interactions.

Economic hardships means they are working a lot, main concerns I see are Indian Uber drivers on sidewalks almost running over old ladies.

This may not be an integration thing but it is tied to bringing in economically struggling immigrants and not giving them the proper means to be successful.

If you live in an overcrowded house with one bathroom, it shows in the TTC when you stink up the place like a homeless person. Again look at this from an everyday person who is just trying to get to work on the ttc.

The frustration is there, again it is xenophobic by definition but it's more complicated than that.

Policies like this by other true left government across the world creates the fear trump uses to get his votes.

Says the one with his head in the sand.
These are not opinions.
These are facts.
Go look up what migrants get and how much they do instead of relying on twitter news.
umm...your opinion...just like twitter...immigration is good, not everyone is...if you can't integrate with the country that adopts you, then you're just bringing nothing to the table but offering the same from the failed country you came from...improvise, adapt, overcome...it can be done...but not everyone will...

If anything the govt is creating animosity and divide through unchecked immigration, because of these things that happen.

How many of you here take the ttc? How many councillors? MPs?

And it's not always white ppl that are frustrated and express these opinions.

As usual you are stuttering and stammering with broken sentences.
What I said regarding benefits migrants get are facts.
They are not opinions.
Your quip on integration was not something we talked about.
You were talking about migrants living on handouts and I laid out facts to the contrary.

Yes, which is why I asked what is "integration" exactly.
If by integration we mean familiarity with our laws and regulations, then I think that happens pretty fast.
If you are talking about interactions, then those cultural differences are going to show.
But I don't get frustrated with it unless someone is being an a**hole to me.
If you went to a foreign country you'd struggle at first to understand how things work as well.
I am usually patient.
But this does not have anything to do with blaming economic hardships on immigrants.
These frustrations always exist, be it in good economic times or bad.
But the blame game only starts when the economy tanks.
Its like immigrants are convenient targets, which is what am pointing to.

Canada
Trump and his clowns are making enemies of everyone, including center-right parties.

Germany’s likely next chancellor: Europe must seek to 'achieve independence' from US

Trump loves Putin. 80 years of stability in Europe is gone. WWW3 is on the horizon.

What an idiotic reply.

Did you even read what I wrote.

Okay let me be clear.

Mass immigration puts unneeded pressure on the immigrants to survive.

In survival mode these immigrants have to take extra jobs, live in overcrowded housing thus creating a lag between them learning the laws etc that may take a shorter amount of time.

They are not taking care of themselves, are in their own little enclave. (Which is not necessarily bad) But what kind of Canada do you want? Multiple bubbles of ppl fighting for scraps?

You may not be frustrated my friend but there are many working class people who are.

Yes, but we're talking about 14,000 knife attacks in London alone.
Toronto GTA has a population about 6 million. London has about 9 million (so we have approximately 66% of London's population).
Imagine if we had 9,333 stabbings a year (or 777 a month, or 64 a day) in Toronto.
That would be an an insane number.

So please tell me you understand there's a serious stabbing problem in London
So you are saying that stabbing attacks are incredibly non-lethal (since you assume that 14,000 figure is "knife attacks" in one city)?

Of course, that 14,000 is "knife crime" not "stabbing attacks", but we wouldn't want to mess with the narrative, would we?

And you are right, if we had 64 stabbings a day in Toronto, it would be a big deal.
But they don't have 64 stabbings a day in London, either.

So let's look at "knife crime" (which appears to be various things where a knife might be involved.)

London: 1.76 knife offences per 1,000 people
Toronto: 1.20 knife offences per 1,000 people

So it is worse in London.

Now, can we get specifically "stabbings"?
That's tougher, but is probably in the data somewhere.
I haven't been able to find it, though.
(Homicides with knives is easier.)

Again the type of immigration is crucial. For example Single 19yr old men/women coming into the country who have the pressure to send money back home vs families coming to Canada who want to make Canada their home will have different motivations and plans..
