Send them the fuck back to Paris. :p hehehe

- the wall is routed to take occupied territory and encompass West Bank settlements
That is wrong. The wall should be on the green line. Ok well just outside of it so that all the green line is inside the wall. Just to get back at the Arabs for attacking and losing ... thus losing land. Losers just don't have to pay for their actions anymore. Give the Germans back Prussia and Silesia.

OTB
Ok let them stay. Let only Israeli citizens stay.

Can we agree not to use the phrase "final solution" when discussing Israel or Jews.

We disagree, we'll see who's right over time. I think Israel is more desperate for a two state solution, if not the Jews will be a minority in Israel by 2020.

OTB
Sorry, but english is only my second language. I now realize the implications of the term "final solution". No it was not meant that way. I was merely implying that both side are so far apart and so entrenched in their own beliefs, that a peaceful solution will not be possible.
Either way, unless their religous beliefs give way to a national goal, it will be hard for them to reconcile.

It is your first language not your second language that is the problem, Dr. Merkwurdigeliebe.

The existing Arab population in Israel present no risk at this time of becoming a majority in Israel.

Actually this is not quite true, the Palestinians are breeding like rabbits - if you inlcude Gaza and the WB in an Isrealis state, in 10 years Arabs will out number the others.

This is not true. If you actually go to primary sources rather than the revisionist histroy that is repeated over here - you will find that Isreal attacked its neighbours. The Isrealis political leadership and the rise of the Generals, Rabin, Dayan et al were increasingly aggitating for the opportunity to expand the 12 mile country. Egypt still feeling its oats in a pan arab nationalist revival after decades of foreign domination were only too happy to provide the bait. This was exactly what Isreal wanted, and squandered no opportunity.

Israel continuously agitated its neighbours looking for confrontation during this period. While pan national Arabism is often cited, it is undereported how aggressive Isreal was during this period in its developement.

Dayan always said attacking Syria was one of two serious mistakes he made, the other was allowing settlers into some regions.Attacks on Syria, establishment of a DMZ into which they put tractors (armoured) to cultivate (Syrian) land - the Syrians were incredulous at this audacity - and after firing upon the tractors, were blamed for it. While we are all at heart supporters of Isreal- this sort of duplicity is not recognized over here as a result of the proliferation of "think tanks" and foreign policy groups who are populated by those biased in this conflict. The best example - is this repeated phrase "the Arabs attacked Isreal" - when it was completely the other way around. AS in the US told Egypt never to throw the first punch - and in return had 85% of its airforce wiped out by Isreal - roots of arab discontent witht he west.

Oh don't be so hard on Cobra1 Beebee. While true that Arab countries had mobilized, it was Israel that pre-empted with a blitzkrieg in 1967. What about Lebanon in 1978? There might have been good reasons, like maybe with the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. However the point was that Israel attacked first in these instances. So for me to make a blanket statement Arabs attacked Israel, as I did, is not really that accurate. Hence I am glad that Cobra1 corrected me.

There are lots of opinions on the matter. Facts are facts and then the propaganda starts.

Now that history cannot be reversed, at this point I think that only thing that can be done is to provide the Palestinians with a sovereign state. Israel should have one and so should the Palestinians; but there will always be some on both sides to fuck it up for everyone else.

..hopefully there will be some nice big demonstrations to show our neighbours that Bush is truly hated around the World. Its amazing how quickly Bush squandered the goodwill people felt after 9/11.

Add to BB's response, the Egyptians occupation of Sharm and the blockade of the straits of tiran would generally be considered an open act of war. Egypt just thought they could use their soviet backing to bully Israel.
