Me and my SO have and understanding...I don't really buy her gifts and so does she...anything she wants to buy she gets...letting me know after the fact she bought something, it could be underwear etc etc...she's been shopping around online lately because of pandemic so sometimes she leaves her browser with all the stuff that interests her...and when I see something in "her cart" I just click and buy them...any stuff that costs more than 1k, we discuss it. She was wanting a new CG jacket this year so I bought her that. btw...duewest in queens gives 10% on all Canada Goose jackets in stock. great little store.

In my SO / gf relationships over the years, I’ve never really had any set budget. Gifts for the usual occasions, Xmas, birthday will be bigger. Have ranged a couple hundred to few thousand. The latter will be items that are particularly special or meaningful. Valentine’s Day/ anniversary will be less, over the years have ranged 50 to couple hundred. Throughout the year there are occasional spontaneous gifts, flowers, chocolate, special bottle of wine, a little something for a sport or hobby she enjoys. These have usually been under $100.

the spontaneous gifts have been less for sure during covid, less chance to see something while out of the house for other purposes.

I never received very fabulous things, but having my regulars doing their best to support me is something I am very grateful for. If they go out of their way to bring a bottle of wine or flowers it's enough for me. I have been waking up in my very own bed every morning for 3 months now, no hotel , no travel. That's really the best gift

To each their own I think. You reach my philosophy but if you want to buy a bag or jewelery to your sp or so its perfectly fine. I am testing the crowd here and I would never want anybody to feel belittled or judged.

No Budget and no timeline. I prefer giving out of the blue when it’s not expected. Gift cards are the easiest for me and her so she can pick out exactly whatever she wants. Sephora , lululemen , Uber Eats and Netflix gift cards have all been well received.
