In anticipation that you MIGHT want to reword this question, please check Rod Stewart discography to confirm that this is 'a Rod Stewart song', as opposed to a song covered by Rod Stewart, but written and originally recorded by someone else. Rod wrote or co-wrote only a few of his hits, and in many cases, the original version was already well known.
My gut says the song is Every Picture Tells a Story, which IS a Rod Stewart song, (he co-wrote it, with Ron Wood), because I could see CBS using that as a theme song for a CSI spinoff, but I never watched any of those.
My song in question is a song recorded by RS , but written by someone else, my mistake , I will modify my question.

D was a Canadian show which aired on The Comedy Network, (Canada) from 1999-2001 - three seasons of 13 episodes each. The show was somewhat unique in that the 39 episodes are one continuous story. The show stars Greg Lawrence as Butch. Lawrence was also the writer/ producer, and voiced the title character in his other series from The Comedy Network, the cheaply animated but very funny Kevin Spenser.This show is difficult to find because the only source to purchase the DVDs was a now defunct company named Express Media. They were essentially a shipping and handling company - whenever someone contacted them to buy DVDs, it was necessary to pay in advance by credit card, and Express Media would then dub copies of the disks. They probably weren't very busy, because there were only five days between when I placed the order and when I received the DVDs, by regular Canada Post. The disks have blank white labels, and some of the .VOB files are out of sequence.

D was made primarily to provide Canadian content for The Comedy Network. At that time, their programming block was six hours per day, repeated four times. Four airings of 'Butch' meant two hours of daily CanCon.It's also possible that the show may have earned a profit before being made, because the budget is very low, and might have been less than the Government subsidies the producers would have received for making an 'all Canadian' TV series.
