We've had a lot of cartoons questions, mostly in the

Name the show categories. I've been avoiding theatrical cartoons that have played on TV.
The Max Fleischer Popeyes are great. The Famous Studios theatricals are mostly fair to poor, and the made for TV Popeyes aren't very good, either, compared to the Fleishers.
Fleischer Popeyes were all made between 1933 and 1942. There are more than 100 of them, but only three were made in colour. The colorized versions that play on TV look like shit, compared to the black and white originals.
The Fleischer Popeyes always look like they're badly dubbed. This is because the cartoons were made as silent films, then the voice actors ad libbed dialogue while watching the completed film, (exactly the opposite of how most cartoons are made; the dialogue track is usually done before the cartoon is animated).
For the Fleischer Betty Boop cartoons, the animators were usually given a song to include in the film, and they built a cartoon around the song.
