Wow, that show was on for almost 20 years, and I never heard of it. Maybe it didn't air on the CTV affiliate in Montreal. There were 2 Red Fishers, an American and a Canadian:

We didn't get our first colour set until 1979, but we did get cable a few years earlier.Wow, that show was on for almost 20 years, and I never heard of it. Maybe it didn't air on the CTV affiliate in Montreal.
Growing up, my family wasn't poor, but my father was cheap. The only reason we had a colour TV by 1974 is because one of my sisters won it in a raffle just before she went to study nursing at The University of Alaska. Our viewing choices were limited to whatever stations we could receive with the 'rabbit ears' antennae on top of the set. There was only CBC and CTV for local stations in English, and we could get the CBS and NBC stations from Burlington, Vermont and Plattsburgh, New York, but not ABC.
I asked my father if we could get an antenna for the roof, and he kept saying "We're going to get cable", but that was just another of the promises he never kept.
