You cannot support an independent Palestinian state and supporting the establishment of settlements in west bank at the same time. How can you have an independent sate with settlements inside ?....
1) I don't support settlements but 2) even the Arab League supports the idea of land swaps (especially if the Palestinians want a land corridor to Gaza) and 3) Israel has already shown the ability to evacuate settlements.

Israel has offered two state deals on several occasions. Those deals haven't been perfect yet groups like Hamas are outright opposed to Israel existing in any form.

I think there are also groups in Israel (perhaps the PM) that oppose a Palestinian state.

Meanwhile, the populous is becoming more hostile to Israel:

“I once dreamt of becoming a doctor. Today I am homeless. They should watch out for what I could become next.”

Yes there are groups but the majority of Israelis support a two state peace. Netanyahu has come out as saying he'd support a two state peace as long as the Palestinians are demilitarized (and judging by the behaviour of Hamas - the pseudo-elected government - it's understandable).

To have fringe groups in Israel wanting only Israel compared to major Palestinian factions (including Fatah's military wing) wanting Israel destroyed, the comparison is hardy appropriate.

p.s. As for your quote, you can find similar ones dating back to before Israel existed.

I think Bibi will do whatever he can to perpetuate the current land theft and avoide a deal at all costs.

So your opinion is superior to official statements by him and public opinion polls in Israel?

Of course it's a moot point until major Palestinian factions accept the concept of peace.

He is less likely to make a deal than Olmert, but he was elected in large part because the Palestinians walked away from the fantastic deal Olmert offered. The Israeli voters decided if the Palestinians want to play hard ball, they would elect a slugger and hit the ball out of the park.

If there are any signs of Palestinians being interested in peace I think the voters would send in a negotiator.

Bibi is obsessed with security and always has been and that may have been his greatest difficulty in making a deal. Now that 70% or so of Israel is in range of Hamas rockets, including Ben Gurion Airport do you think his obsession will abate? Hamas may have just made a deal impossible and sentenced the Palestinian people to may more years without the sovereign state i believe they deserve and could have had on a number of occasions in the past.

If they were smart (and they've shown no such inclinations) they would simply breed the Jews out of a majority and establish an Islamist state....

If they were smart (and I agree they have shown no such inclinations) they would have gotten rid of Hamas a long time ago.

Except a great number of Israeli Arabs prefer living in Israel despite its flaws rather than living in a Palestinian state.
