I agree. I work with some gay people and they don’t give a fuck about the pride parade.
I think there is a not too complicated reason. 30 years ago a gay parade was a unique event in the world. Lots of tourist and gay people come here to be the part of it. These days when the LGBTQPT41DCSHK ( or what a f....k is their name now) community is so pushy,so a small village in Finland with 500 population has own pride parade. The people just lost the interest. They just turn on a tv or walk on the street and you see gay guys everywhere. It's just not interesting, not a special event anymore.
I wasn’t in town this year, but the crowds have appeared to be thinning over the past 5 years. Not sure if it’s BLM controversy, parental prudishness, more fun to be had in the Village, apathy to the cause, or something else.
I know a bunch of my friends or colleagues didn’t bother marching this year because of the weather, that’s it. Marshalling alone takes hours. A lot of them skipped the parade and met up afterwords for the party.
I know parents that take kids to watch the parade when it’s convenient or the best option for the day. It’s always been a cheap way to spend some hours in June. If the weather is bad, there are other options.
Pride is now celebrated all month, so those I know in the community are a bit more picky about what they do and don’t attend.
That-said, I’m told attendance at the parade and the parade itself has expanded and shrunk almost constantly since the 70’s. I hear that in recent years (the past 4), the stuff in the Village jumped in attendance, particularly afternoon and night.

Common sense Teejay. There are a lot of hot scantily clad (straight) babes watching the parade. It's a party atmosphere and sexually charged. Great eyecandy. Caribana is also a great opportunity to check out sexy beautifully dressed ladies both in the parade and in the crowd.
For me, I find a scantily clad woman more sexually interesting than just going to a strip club and watching the dancers walk naked pole-to-pole. Great ass in spandex. Braless babe in a tank top. Headlights poking through thin cotton. Life is great!
I agree with this. Coming from a smaller town I remember our family was visiting vancouver unknowingly during gay pride and stumbled onto the parade and were shocked by the party atmosphere and how crazy it all seemed but now there is so surprise or shock. My small town of 50K people has a little parade, I see it all over the news and internet so i personally didnt go just out of laziness and boredom.
It is best to practice tolerance and just be yourself. I do not look at it as hate, but rather people with different views. Every event or function you attend will feature people with opposing views, I make sure that their actions do not control my behavior. That way I am in control of what is going on around me.
I'd argue Caribana is a MUCH better choice if you wanted to party and meet women

Both have many beautiful women. Although I'm sure there are lots of single ladies at Caribana, it's more of a family/group scene then the Pride parade. It's been years since I've attended, things may have changed.
Truth is I don't try the pick-up thing at the parade, I find that kind of creepy. I just go to watch, feel the energy and enjoy the beautiful ladies. Hey man, you need to feel more confident in your sexuality!! lol - yeah I am a little.
