I have had gas most of my life, more recently electric. Last year I got an induction cook-top. Very pleased.
Induction has come down in price a lot of the last while. I think they are price competitive with gas stoves now. I know that the CN Tower uses induction cook tops as does Canoe inside the TD Center.I have had gas most of my life, more recently electric. Last year I got an induction cook-top. Very pleased.
You're probably used to the coil style electric range. A lot of glass top electric ranges still have the coil inside. Look into magnetic induction cooktops that do not have the glowing red coil under the glass.i have a gas stove. Love cooking on it. Hate lack of heat control with a electric range, with the lag on adjusting the heat.
Really shouldn't be a surprise. You are burning fuel, which will always have some kind of emission. So they are just NOW figuring out gas stoves are toxic after they been around for half a century??
I've had one forever too, much better for cooking. But now they are testing how much CO2 etc they put in your houses air.If installed correctly you shouldn't get a gas leak. And if you do get a gas leak you'll notice the hydrogen sulphide (rotten egg) odour to let you know you have a gas leak.
I've had a gas stove for 20+ years and never had an issue. Prefer gas stove to electric because of better/more consistent heat control vs electric when cooking.

Frank I'm disappointed in you. Burning fossil fuels instead of using eclectic. Shame, shame.I've had one forever too, much better for cooking. But now they are testing how much CO2 etc they put in your houses air.
Your link says the US is NOT going to ban gas stoves.Do you have or thinking of getting a gas stove?
U.S. considers gas stove ban. Will Canada? | CTV News
You do realize that the most common cause of house fires is electrical fires.I choose an electric stove just to eliminate any potential gas leaks.
Gas stoves don't have pilot lights. They are all electronic ignition. Furthermore, they can sense that the flame has gone out and will attempt a relight. If that fails, the gas is shut off.I meant the pilot light orifices.
Funny. All the gas ovens in the commercial kitchen at the facility where I work have pilot lights. Not electronic ignition. When they go out, I have to re light them. With a match. So not all gas ovens are electronic ignition. The roof top HVAC units have electronic ignition. Not pilot lights. Due to wind and rain. But what do I know?Gas stoves don't have pilot lights. They are all electronic ignition. Furthermore, they can sense that the flame has gone out and will attempt a relight. If that fails, the gas is shut off.
Like I said before, 1 less thing to worry about. You do realize that the most common cause of house fires is electrical fires.
Natural gas leaks are at the bottom of the list.
Stay away from open flames then.I have had gas most of my life, more recently electric. Last year I got an induction cook-top. Very pleased.
and you associate this with a gas stove being especially dangerous to an EI woman? Wow, dude, you do love stepping
They are not! It was a bullshit hit piece on Fox with the hosts ranting and it is all bullshit.Your link says the US is NOT going to ban gas stoves.
Commercial ranges and HVAC systems are certified to a different standard.Funny. I have a 13 or 14 year old Miele gas cooktop. It's just burners. My oven is an electric built in.I haven't seen these gas ranges with an auto re-ignition system. Are they found on new or older gas ranges??
