TORONTO -- Gas prices in Toronto are about to spike to near record highs, an expert says.

According to Dan McTeague, with Canadians for Affordable Energy, gas prices in Toronto will increase by a one cent on Thursday before spiking by five cents on Friday.

He said prices are on currently on average $1.34 per litre in the city.

It wasn't that long ago when $100/barrel for oil translated into $1.00/litre of gas.

Now we will be at approx. $65/barrel and $1.40/litre.

It wasn't that long ago that the spread in price between regular unleaded and mid-grade was 6 cents/litre.

Now the spread is 19 cents/litre.

All this means is we're going to pay more for everything. I don't think JT knows or cares how much it costs to fill your car of the effect it has on families. He'd raise the price to $2.00 a litre if he could. All in the name of the environment. But a lot of it has to so with supply and demand at the moment.

Interesting how the Trudeaus accumulated a fortune by building gas stations around the Montreal area.

Remember last April when the price on the stock market was negative $37.63 a barrel, while fuel at the pumps was at 68.3cents/L.
Then a truck carrying fuel goes through the ice on an ice road in the arctic and the price jumps 25 cents/L.
Last part was a joke by the way, for those who didn't get it.

Don't think for a second that JT gives a shit about anybody but himself. This election is proof of that.

It's laughable to think Trudeau is surprised by these protesters and their antics. Although, I bet if you dig deeper into those protesters, they're probably not just anti-Trudeau but antigovernment in general.

We have the world's largest or second largest energy reserves. Here's what we should do ... build a pipeline (the safest and most cost effective way to transport oil and gas) from where the gas is ... to where we need it. Oh, and while we're at it, we could build another safe, efficient pipeline to the west coast and sell our oil to the oil starved nations along the pacific rim. They'd all rather have our oil than pay for oil from abusive nation states like Saudi Arabia, right! The government should get on this we could make trillions of dollars in royalties and taxes and solve our debt crisis!!!

Oh wait ... yeah, never mind.

How about this? If you are a woke, enviro-activist, bike riding nitwit, you can go without oil and gas so the demand goes down and the rest of us can afford a tank of gas, home heating and cooling, electricity, manufactured goods, roads etc. All those things we need oil for.

In addition to a vaccine passport, how about an Energy Passport? If you support the reasonable exploitation of our energy reserves by supporting pipelines, cutting off human rights abusing suppliers of oil and accessing foreign markets, you get an Energy Passport to buy energy products.

If you don't, you freeze to death in the fucking dark, you hypocrite.

Hmmm:unsure:. The term "spiked" sort of implies it will ever return to where it was. It would be preferable to say "ratchet up again...
