Furnace Question

My furnace is making a somewhat loud humming noise. I first noticed it a week ago but then it stopped. Now it's doing it again. Any ideas why?

I could say it doesn't know the words but I won't. Tow probables........There is a low voltage transformer used to power the thermostat and control board. Also the fan motor if out of alignment or about to expire will hum.

It could be the belt between the fan pulley and the motor has stretched and is starting to slip. A simple tension adjustment would fix that.

It could also be the sex dwarfs used the stoke the furnace with coal. Check to see if they are getting enough.

My advice: Direct Energy will sell you all of the protection you could possibly want. They come in they clean your furnace they "analyse" it and you pay two hundred bucks. Then; nooooo problems for you.
