Funny fears you had as a child?

Does anyone remember the movie "The Incredible Shrinking Woman"? It was a comedy with Lily Tomlin... My mom loved it and I was so terrified of it that I would hide under the kitchen table when she would watch it. I was especially scared of the part where she goes down the drain in the sink. LOL

I was also terrified of escalators. lol

What was something silly that you were afraid of as a child?

I had recurring dream when I was 5 years old that I was being crashed by a meteor, moving ever so slowly in my direction to the point where I could touch its dark, rough surface just before it pulverized me. I can still see it clearly and remember the feeling of the surface.

I remember as a child being terrified of really high ceilings. Like in a mall... the ceiling would be fifty-sixty feet high and I felt like I would be sucked up. Really weird lol. I was also freaked out when the guy got sucked up the tube in the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

For some unexplained reason, I had a recurring nightmare of being chased by deformed people as a child. It was a nuisance, I was way too young to be exposed to horror films.

Then I watched this classic film and it changed my life.

When I was about 5 or 6 , I was scared of the old escalators at the Eaton's dept. store (before Eaton center was built) that had the big wooden ridges/teeth , my mom had to pull me onto it, lol.

Quicksand...I really thought that there would be more encounters with quicksand...

No kidding, I wouldn't eat sausages because to me they looked like penises. Hot dogs in a bun were fine, but a sausage on it's own, no way.
