Free Newsgroups servers ?

Does anyone know of any "good" free newsgroup servers ? I've been at a loss since Rogers dumped their account with Giganews.

I miss my newsgroups as well. Seems to be the norm nowadays though.

You can get all the text newsgroups at Google Groups. However, none of the binary groups are there, if that's what you're looking for.

There was positive comments about http://www.teranews.com/ in a newsgroup I follow - no personal experience though.
"Free with download limits" (one-time set up fee when you register - scroll to the bottom of the page).

Otherwise, you might look through http://www.newsservers.net/FreeNewsServers.php and see if one of those fits your needs.

Hey, that looks pretty good for a one time fee of 3.95!

50M/day is plenty for the text newsgroups.

I pay $15 US /month to Astraweb for unlimited d/l but they have a $25 for 90G option which is probably suitable for most casual downloaders. For most people, 90G would be more than a years downloading.
