Is it possible with a router or other computer device?

If your neighbors have a unprotected wireless router, you can piggyback on their connection if your PC has wireless capabilities.

You can share your internet with a few other families, use a router to branch off wires to their units if it's feasible and then share the cost or give it away. I know a few duplexes that do this.
Just remember to firewall your own setup.

I don't like to answer these tech questions but you don't need a router. If it is a weak signal you may need a router ( of equivalent) to boast the signal. If you go to a computer shop they should be able to tell you what you need. (Make sure you can return the equipment for the retail price.)

If you don't know what you doing you might be better off just paying for your internet access.

You have another option... you can crack your neighbors WEP WAP wireless connection with programs out there. Look for the strongest near by signals. I prefer to use linux for this job but this is for far more advanced users. Also you will need your neighbors permission Good Luck. !!!!!
