Britney Spears has launched a blistering attack on the "abusive" conservatorship that has controlled her life for 13 years at a court hearing. Speaking in open court for the first time in the case, she accused her father of controlling her "100,000% Jamie Spears was granted control over her affairs by court order in 2008.

Speaking on Wednesday via telephone to a judge in Los Angeles, the pop star said she was traumatised and cried every day. "I just want my life back," she said.

"I want to end this conservatorship without being evaluated," Spears told the court in an emotional 20-minute address by video link.
"I deserve to have a life, I've worked my whole life. I deserve to have a two to three-year break."
They forced her to take lithium and birth control......poor Britney I feel sorry for her

I found it interesting that she isn't asking for conservatorship to end, she's just asking that her father be replaced with the person who was appointed by the court to do it on a temporary basis while her father was sick. I think she realizes that she needs it on some level, but not to the extreme that her father is doing it.

I think she likes not having to make decisions. She just doesn’t like WHO is making the decisions for her.

The $300 million trust fund baby Paris Hilton fucked her over real good. She was emotionally fragile before they met, a complete disaster after. She got caught on a DUI with her young son sitting on her lap. And her waste of skin father of the child keeps ratcheting up his palimony payments. He was getting $200,000 a month, he's asking for considerably more.

I feel sorry for her.

Britney said it has been too long since she's been in control of her own finances, and that she would like to sue her family to once again gain autonomy.

So? She wants to control how it is spent, but not how it is managed daily.

I really do feel sorry for her. She had the furthest thing from a normal childhood. I hope things get better for her and she gets the help she needs.

Im not sure Paris was much better. She was placed into those militarized bootcamps where they basically kidnap the kids in the night with parental permission.

Kids too young, too much money and privelege. Thrown into the spotlight. Or too many people looking to cash in on them. The smart ones get out, like Paris. Other burn out, like Spears.

Spears earned her money. Spent the last several years touring or in vegas, American Idol or doing choreography. Time to end this. She is 39 years old. She deserves to be in control of her life.

To clarify my previous statement.

Kevin Federline is getting $70, 000 a month as palimony payment. He wants $200,000 saying he doesn't make enough to look after his kids. He had two with Britney and another three with another woman.

He should get a job, he's a disgrace to us hard working men.

She was railroaded. Everybody is getting a large piece of her. She is their work horse. One lawyer was discussing her case. Don't know if she was directly involved but she was asked if anyone had EVER broken out of a conservatorship. She said, not to her knowledge. The legal fees she has to have deducted for her imprisonment are financial hemorrhaging. She is completely a prisoner. Never seen anyone so fucked over except for those that actually wind up in real prison for nothing. How she wound up in this situation is Kafkaesque.
Conservatorship is a growth industry in the states. Old people are the victims of having their lives taken over by outside interests, who forcibly remove them from their homes. Put them in exorbitantly priced care centers. Take control of their finances. Sell their homes and pocket the profits. So at the end of their lives they are fucked out of all they have with no legal rights.

But wait a second!

There is judicial oversight. You don't think a judge is alive to these infringements on her personal rights?

The conservator has to produce significant psychiatric documentation that she cannot look after herself. And I am sure that the judge is ready and willing to arrange for a second psychiatric opinion of Brittany's legal team's choice, paid from the estate. And a third and fourth if necessary.

An IUD?!.... I was shocked too. But what if you have someone who is convinced that she's the Virgin Mary and that Joe the UPS guy is God and if she fucks him and has a kid, it's going to be Jesus the Messiah?! You simply can't let that sort of shit happen.

It's ugly af, but conservatorship is sometimes necessary. What if you have a 93 year old grandma, who's about to sign over the $2,000,000 family home to Bill the delivery boy because she likes his colour socks. That's a realistic scenario w old folks with Alzheimers or who are just dotty. Again, ugly and nasty, but what tf are you going to do?!

No one has the right to insert something into someone else’s body without consent. Period.

That’s vaccines, that’s IUD, drugs, all of it. Period.

Yuh. They do.

It's called "substitute decision maker for the person". It's a legal thing. It's not infrequent.

And as well, the shrinks get to do it under the Mental Health Act. If your dog tells you everyone else is crazy and the Martians don't want you to take the anti-psychotic injection because it'll turn you into a porcupine, guess what?!..... You're getting those injections anyway. Right after they tie your ankles and wrists to the restraints at the 4 corners of the bed at CAMH. No use screaming. No use calling for the Lizard People to come and save you. Those meds are gonna be inside your arm.

Welcome to reality.

No one has the right and anyone who does it is fucking disgusting in my opinion. The fact you seem to enjoy the idea is disturbing.

I used colourful language, but I also repeatedly said that it's ugly. And it is.

Disease of any sort is not pretty. Mental disease is no exception.

And yuh. They have the right. The fact that you don't like the idea signifies dick.

The fact that you get off on it being a possible law is disguising.

My opinion stands.
