He did what he had to do in Toronto - good for him - its Houston's problem now - injuries have plagued him.

Kyrie Irving went back to Dallas for $126 million/3 years. If he had stayed with one team for longer time, he would have scored one of those super max deals.

And the Raptors are making do with Denis Shroeder - $26 million/2 years. They are not contending for championship any time soon.

He got injured often because of Nick Nurse and his crazy heavy minutes for starters. FVV was second in minutes per game in the whole league, second only to Siakam

The crazy heavy minutes combined with the crazy hectic defensive system that had Toronto defenders travel more miles on the court than other teams.
The two factors beat his body down, to the point where it was no longer wise to sign him to such a contract.

Masai should have traded Fred at the deadline…or sooner. Nobody expected the Raps to compete for a title last year so keeping Fred was a waste.

Clear to me Masai is resting on his past achievements. How the hell are the Raptors supposed to make the playoffs with this terrible talent? They wont.

Canadian Dillon Brooks, who dissed Lebron as old, landed a 4-year, $80 million deal with the Rockets. Easily the most shocking free agency deal so far.

Some guy named Jalen McDaniels has agreed to a two-year deal with the Raptors. Scraping the bottom of the barrel, that :ROFLMAO:

And then there is James Harden. He had a player option at $35.6 million with 76ers. But he could have opted out to become an unrestricted free agent, like Fred. He sent out several feelers, including to his former team Houston. But once Houston went with FVV, he had no where else to go. So he opted in and then asked the 76ers to get him a trade. In other words, bank the $35.6 million and then get the 76ers to get him what he couldnt get on his own. Thinks he is smart :ROFLMAO:

Freddie is injury prone now so no great loss
Streaky 3 point shooter, 50-50 on his attacking the rim ( too short) , back problems every year... I'm glad he's gone. He was a real hustler with a mighty spirit, but had done all he could do with the Raptors and they weren't gonna win with him as a key piece.

I would not want Irving on my team for free. He is completely undependable, a team disrupter and a complete sicko.

Good points and all valid. I'd like to see what the Raptors record was with him and without him the past few years.
