Pronounced "bova" boots. But those were for Punks, not Mods. They wore the funny ties. Of course I am not making fun of Terbs Mods as they wear what ever they want. Oh please let them wear something!

Don't you mean "bovver"? And they were for punks, along with as many safety pins as you could find, and the most unusual haircut, etc.
Funny ties = string ties = thin, leather tie.

Lol sorry. I have visited there. While Newfies maybe the funniest in Canada, GB has the Welshies...

Tell Morgan, that Wales and Ireland are amonst the most beautiful places on Earth. Still have a fond spot for Northern England, but hey that is just me.

My Celtic influences make me laugh though. Gummies could be fun. :D

Would depend on how clipped the syllable was. I was stuck as to what to put as spelling. I like bovva or its short form bova. My cousins in Bolton were fond of using them. The North had a much different use than just fashion.
