France is dominating Italy.....very fluid transition game, with a lot of speed upfront....and Thierry Henry is magnificent.

Italy still won the World Cup.....so who cares if they dont make the Euros...enjoy the glory for four years.
keep on not caring. Italy care. You may not. You obviously arent in tune with football.

You think Brazilians don't care because they have the most World Cups? They still wanted the last one BADLY.

For a Hollywood Jew your Italian is fantastic. I can't write like that but I'll do my best.

Io o fiduce a Roberto Donadoni, eva un grande calcista e diventera un grande allenatore.

franky is bang on, if Italy dont qualify thats pretty pathetic, ESPECIALLY as the defending World Cup Champs.

or is that just their excuse, oh we won the world cup who cares about the European Cup?

What are you guys freaking about? Italy will do what it needs to when it needs to. It's silly to talk of Italy not qualifying at almost any point, but at the beginning of the campaign? Take a pill.

By the way, it was a very pretty game. Not as great as the weekend's Brazil beating on Argentina though. THAT was a thing of beauty, especially considering that Argentina had nothing to be ashamed of.

And oh yeah....exactly what is it with zee Germans? 13? They just have no sense of moderation do they? ;)

I can assure you Big E. The Italians will be very upset. As far as pathetic; that's pretty strong. Italy was very unlucky against Lithuania and France just beat them outright. Italy hasn't won in Paris since 1956. Anyway; there are a shit load of games left but they better win the next one against Ukraine. We'll definately talk after that one because if they lose that one there is no way back!! As for that quote buddy made about who cares about the Euros. He's one of those guys that pulls his flag out every 4 years and dosen't have a clue about the game. Talk to you after Oct 7. Big day for Italians. Make or break!!!
Aren't these games home and away? If so if Italy loses the next they can still easily qualify.

yes its very early, but 1 pt from a possible 6 isnt good, especially considering they tied powerhouse Lithuania. Of course there are plenty games left, but this start could bite them in the ass down the road. Sure they beat Ukraine at the World Cup, but trying to beat them in Kyiv will be tougher...lets just put this way, either way you spin it, its a crappy start

In 1982-84, World champions Italy accumulated 5 pts in 8 games, with 1 win, 3 draws and 4 losses in a group with Romania, Sweden, Cyprus and Czechoslovakia. They finished 4th and of course were not part of Euro84 won by France 2-0 against Spain.

Enzo Bearzot coached the Azzurri for a decade (1976 - 86) but his final four years were anything but stellar. Lippi resigned immediately after the World Cup so as not to follow in his predecessors footsteps.

Roberto Donadoni is in an impossible position: he knows that he must bring in younger talent but he may not have enough time to mould the team in his image. Italy should beat the Ukraine but then again Scotland should have beaten Belarus.

Btw, Internazionale have announced that they will retire Facchetti's No. 3.
