To be honest, whether the world likes it or not ... if it wasn't for the United States involvement in the WWII, we would definitely not be living the way we are today ...
There was absolutely no way Europe or Asia could defend themselves from the unstoppble and invincible Nazis and the Japanese Imperial army respectively ...
Yeah, the Nazis could not get into the English heartland ... but London was bombed like hell. It was only a matter of time that the Nazi could beat the English in a war of attrition. Think about it man, with the British Isles blockaded and almost the whole of Europe under Axis control ... the Nazi Empire could just use their advantage of more natural resources to starve out the Brits.
As in Asia, although the Japanese were tied down and in dreadlock in China, it was only a matter of time the Japanese could starve out the Chinese with all the natural resources from occupied lands (just like the Nazi could of done to England). And not to mention the Japanese had total control of the Chinese coast lines. Plus, the Japanese also had control of Indonasian oil ... the strategic and most important resouce of the war and of peace ...
Now, with everyone occupied and only one isolated country far far away, the US was the only one who could really end this mess. Although many countries defended themselves and contributed to the war effort, I must say that the biggest victor is without a doubt the Americans. Plus, on D-Day ... most of the dudes were US soldiers and the atomic bombs dropped on Japan were made in America although the technology wasn't really developed by US scientists ... but they were dropped from a US warplane ... and thats what counts
Just MHO ...
