Never in a million years did I think, I would admire a former KKK leader, but here I am, very impressed with C.P. Ellis. Also, it goes without saying that Ann Atwater, was equally amazing.

If you haven't seen the movie perfect enemies, I highly recommend it,

C. P. Ellis grew up in the poor white section of Durham, North Carolina, and as a young man joined the Ku Klux Klan. Ann Atwater, a single mother from the poor black part of town, quit her job as a household domestic to join the civil rights fight. During the 1960s, as the country struggled with the explosive issue of race, Ellis and Atwater met on opposite sides of the public school integration issue. Their encounters were charged with hatred and suspicion. In an amazing set of transformations, however, each of them came to see how the other had been exploited by the South's rigid power structure, and they forged a friendship that flourished against a backdrop of unrelenting bigotry.

Now a major motion picture, The Best of Enemies offers a vivid portrait of a relationship that defied all odds.

Funny, I watched the trailer and there is a line that really stood out to me that exposes the stupidity of some racist that believe in God. Ann Atwater is seen yelling at C.P Ellis "the same God that created you created me". I'm not sure how many KKK members actually believe in God, but I'm sure there's a ton of people out there that "believe in God" but somehow find it okay to be racist.

Kind of reminds me of how the U.S went to war in WWII because they believed in Liberty yet their own country was treating blacks like second class citizens. It's truly amazing how people can over look these things.
