No frills has always charged for bags, or you can use the boxes.

The looks I get when I buy 2 items, then ask for 20 bags is priceless. i still dont trust them little doggie bags, use grocery bags instead.

At least Mr Ford has cleaned up the mess of governments and politicians like Gord Perks wanting there hands in your pockets taking nickels out.

Now that the gov't is out of it....it's up to us to decide if we wanna pay these charges, now imposed by the retailers if they choose.

Surely not. If Ford nation is as numerous as they claim, any savvy retailer would buy into the fantasy the Mayor—who has never had a 'real' job, just politics and a year or so at the label plant in 'sales'—believes: That businesses give stuff away free.

You can't really be that naive about business decision-making, even if you are still so starry-eyed you can't see the Emperor has had a stitch on since the campaign began.

What you have to ask is how an idiot, petty piece of socialism, like making everyone pay for bags, ever got to be top of the Mayor's agenda. Has he never heard of subways we need, the expressway that's falling down, the water mains rusting ubnder the roads that are years overdue for resurfacing? Shouldn't he have put his energy into keeping some election promises? Like finding waste, or eliminating the Land Transfer Tax? While he saved you that 5¢ he raised your property tax. It was the right move, you swallowed the BS and called it a Victory Dinner.

It says so much when the Mayor's highest priority is saving himself a nickel bag (no pun intended) fee or a couple of grand he could easily afford, and never should have asked for in the first place. We won't mention the full and focussed concentration he gives City documents at 90kph. What a Mayor!

Clearly the City isn't a priority. But free bags …. That's Ford Country!
