Thankfully he finally found that clue and did what he should have done a month ago.

If you are convinced a lockdown is needed - apply it to everyone without loop holes. Ford shut small independent businesses during the prime shopping season but left malls and large stores unscathed. Small stores can be just as effective screening their clients. Small businesses can enforce mask only / temperature checks - I have a friend in Woodstock running a small business and he takes COVID seriously.

I watched a reporter ask Ford why he was waiting until Boxing day. Ford said he wanted the stores to have a chance to clear their inventory. WTF ??? Small business owners don't have this chance ! If it takes a 6 week lockdown to get the desired effect - start now and then in 6 weeks - all businesses can open with the same restrictions.

I believe a lockdown may be necessary to curb COVID but it is only effective if there are no exceptions. Steering customers to the big boys who are party contributors is using the pandemic as an excuse to offer an uncontested monopoly and does not restrict the super spreading activities - it just focuses them to one location.

I was supporting Ford's response at the beginning of this but now I just see another crooked politician out to screw the little guys. 😡 Whenever I start to believe, I end up feeling the same - all politicians suck.

Exactly right

That has pretty much been the complaint about Ford since Day 1
Totally nonsensical approach to lockdowns (eg "please do not shop or go to family gatherings but we won't lock down until boxing day cause you know *wink *wink")

Ford is a moron who has not made anyone happy
Doctors complain policies are clueless
Business complains his policies are preferential (I mean seriously; explain how 100 people in a Costco is "safer" than say 2 people an hour visiting a lock shop on Main st)
People complain his policies are 1984 era doublespeak ("there are no risks in the schools, but we are locking schools down again just because")
Teachers / Unions complain he is vindictive (claiming they are the problem for not making sacrifices and working "with him")

He claims (back in summer) he added over 3000 beds to ICU, then freaks out when 250 of those beds get used
He kept hospitals closed during late summer months INSTEAD of letting them catch up on backlog surgery etc (and now wait time will be even longer)

He insists he is "helping" small biz, but then allows things like Uber LCBO deliveries (and we know most restaurants bleed money without alcohol and tips for servers)
Even for that matter how is an outdoor patio dining "dangerous"? Its worse to line up like cattle at a local Walmart

Shuts down stores but allows people to congregate in malls

I mean seriously is there anyone who thinks this crack smoking overweight McDonalds loving bufoon has done anything correctly? (I mean even there... he brags about eating McD fries, like he isnt obese enough & McD is prob one of the chains who does not need any help advertising)

Healthcare is operated based on metrics. Yes we added 3000 icu beds but that doesn't mean they are available for covid use.

At the end of the day. If Healthcare told Doug Ford to jump in Lake Ontario he will do it.

Ever wonder why they invite the CEO of William Osler Heath to the press conference? If i remember correctly William Osler Heath system has the lowest qty if ICU beds in Ontario as per Mayor Brown.

Yet Doug added qty 3000 ICU beds over the summer. I guess none of the extra capacity went to William Osler Heath System.

If you REALLY want a lockdown it should be done RIGHT
The half assed measures will result in nothing

As Yoda once said
Do or do not
There is no try
SOOOOO, you complain about masks and lockdowns yet you would like to see it done right?? That means completely shut down with only essentials open and major fines for violators, is this what you wish for??

If it was done right it would be over in 2 weeks (10 days to be precise)
There is noone willing to put up with a 12 month lockdown except the cerb welfare recipients (we nearly are at 12 months now; shit still closed into Feb for sure)

And for what? A flu that is a bit more spreadable than normal
You can see the fake news in full effect as we speak
(oh look there is a vaccine so we don't need lockdown, but suddenly there is a new even more transmissible variant and maybe the vaccine is ineffective against it)

When you start pulling bullshit and nonsense out of your ass claiming it's nothing more than a flu you are out to lunch and become a total nutbag. The ICU and folks on ventilators are increasing, the US is putting dead bodies in fridges and you come off with stupid comments like it's just a flu.

Numerous health units in Canada have already reported the excess death counts have nothing to do with the flu / covid

Explain how BC has a 3 to 1 ratio (in other thread) if you think flu / covid is such a big deal?

I don't believe the flu is a big deal but COVID is for sane people.

Here are some of your dumbass clan members but watch later how carma bites a few deniers hard in the ass and I have absolutely no pity for them whatsoever.

I wish it was. Sadly despite how often Ford calls us his friends and says health is the first priority, he clearly is more interested in business owners and using covid bills to reward his buddies.

You obviously did not read the 1st article

It goes to great lengths to explain why a lockdown is actually needed and why Fords plan is an epic failure
You support a lockdown now?
