Ahh... the dude finally resurfaced.

" ... will forever retire from HK's entertinment circle. " What else could he have said really. Now that he has made the difficult step - facing the public first time since the leak - may be he'll bounce back bigger and stronger in future, who knows.

I don't think anyone can judge him for taking the pics, afterall they were all consensual acts. What they did behind closed door as mature adults were only business of their own. And Mr. CEO didn't leak them out to begin with. Yet, a big part of the HK public ( not all , mind you ) totally condemned him for taking the pics.

It's a fucking circus.

Thanks for the link Chairman Mao....
Edison must be going through some heavy shit right now, can't imagine having your private shit lifted and uploaded all over the net.

Actually, a few of them did. Gillian ( one half of Twins, that super HK singing duo ) got the most of it since her prior public image has always been sqeeky clean, the pure as snow and fragile little girl, whose fan base span from little school kids to seniors.

She did give a conference a week ago to the HK media with respect to the leaked pics, neither denying nor admitting the athenticity of the pics, and said something quite vague such as " I was very naive, very stupid back then." That comment, the HK public is still having a blast with as far as I know.

Mao's link reported something similar. But is the mafia thingy fictional or factual, that's for those who care to find out.

Edison Chen is my hero! Seriously, he got all of these Cantopop celebs to pose for those pictures when they had everything to lose. That`s a true playa.

On the other hand, he`s a complete idiot - letting the laptop out of his sight to get "serviced" while he`s still a top HK star himself.

The whole thing is surreal - a real life "corrupt wishing well."

His "shit" is purely for lack of Common sense in protecting the reputations of the women he was seeing.

The photographs were stolen from Edison Chen’s laptop when he took it in for repairs

They have caused heated debate about the internet and privacy laws, a major Hong Kong Police operation, and finally the intervention of Donald Tsang, Hong Kong's chief executive quoted yesterday as saying "[this is] a serious issue, which demanded further follow-up".

Acording to the Hong Kong Police 1,300 images were stolen from the computer, and they have launched a Hong Kong-wide manhunt for the culprits, including anyone who had uploaded or distributed pictures. So far they have made nine arrests.

I like photos as much as the rest of us. But these are photos of another nature, this whole thread should really be far more like the discussion of sexual exploitation on other threads over the past few weeks since the arrests in Toronto.

Listen to yourself. He photographed very famous women having sex. Both parties are idiots, him and the women. I tend not to let women photograph me having sex, and I'm not famous. If you let someone point a camera at you with your clothes off, assume those photos will be on the Net at some point. Privacy is over.

Practically yes, legally I'm not so sure about that, not just here but certainly not in Hong Kong. However, as the shockingly true advertising tagline for a movie in my younger days went: "In every life, with every love, with every trust - there comes the possibility of - betrayal."

t'was a bad move on his part to send his laptop off to be repaired with those images on it bu tits not like he intentionally did it.

and the way I see it these girls are big girls who can make choices for themselves. They are just as foolish to allow themselves to be photographed and should be ready to accept anything that happens as a result. Its not up to him to protect their reputation..they are adults and responsible for protecting their own reputation.

On that part, surely He's a big idiot.

Hmm... actually the laws in HK are a bit different. The exposed female celebs can in fact sue Edison for damages if they are willing to prove that Edison did not try his best in protecting and securing his copyrighted properties, the leaked photos . But will the girls do it, at this point not likely.

Those who read Chinese can check HK newspapers' web sites. They were just discussing about that issue on a few articles.

Mao if you come across any leaks on Maggie Q, bring'em on K ?

It's still amazing that he got these women to do these pics. They're not lingerie photos, they are hard core porn.
