Brand New Mountain Bike, still in the box. Unopened. Retail price is $300. Looking to sell for $200. I am located downtown Toronto.
Because in this world there are greedy people who are out to make a quick buck even on something they have won or gotten for free.Hey Bruce,
Instead of selling it, why not donate it to a charity (bikes for kids?) Maybe you can get a tax receipt and do something good for someone else.
I've won two bikes from Horton's:
One went to a friend of my father's for his grandson that couldn't afford a bike. The other I gave to CAP cancer assistance program in Hamilton for their raffles.
Ah, but it might actually be MORE beneficial financially to get a receipt. Depending on your tax bracket, a $300 tax receipt might be worth the same as $150 cash... plus some kid benefits... win-win.There's nothing greedy about selling a prize and nobody should have their arm twisted to donate it instead.
