My Pho turned out nice and yummy. Great for this cold weather!

I'm going to go Italian now and try doing Rachael Ray's stuffed artichokes: http://www.rachaelray.com/2011/06/21/stuffed-artichokes-a-southern-italian-classic/

A lot of people don't know that Rachael Ray's mother is from Sicily so she knows a lot about Italian/Sicilian cooking. Her father is from Louisiana. Interesting combination. I can see how she got so into food.

There's never a dull moment with Michael Rapaport, he got more than he bargained for.

He showed up on The Howard Stern Show, during Cocktober, to promote his book. In return he had to judge the cock painting competition and got the visual attack of Sal and Richard in their birthday suits. It's perhaps the funniest segment I've ever heard...I had to pull over.

Speaking of black pudding....

Then you have to hit the gym for at least an hour afterward.
An Irish breakfast typically doesn't have baked beans. The real Irish breakfast for me is called an Ulster Fry. Rashers (bacon), sausage, black pudding, fried eggs, tattie farls (potato bread), soda bread and grilled tomatoes. After eating that you need a nap though. Then a trip to the gym.

When I want to wow a lady friend, I make Coq au Vin, don't use onions though. Ill give you one item of my recipe, I brown the chicken in bacon fat.

Having spent my earliest years on a farm, there are certain foods I enjoy. People more cultured than myself may find it disgusting.

Black pudding - yes!!!!!! If you grew up in the UK, you love it!

Forgot to update the results of my home dry-aged beef experiment. Well, the extra and extended cold resulted in a lot drier conditions than I expected and too much (or too rapid) drying. In short - a failed experiment. (Dismal failure to be perfectly honest...LOL!) Maybe I'll try again during the late spring. Anyway, in the interim, one of my daughters has gone on a no-beef diet on account of the effect of their farts on greenhouse gases (and the resulting effect ocean temps and coral bleaching). So when she's with me, we're on a reduced beef diet anyway...

Never give up. Lord knows in becoming a decent cook I made some doosies that went straight to the trash.

Jarring and pickling are next on my list but first will be coming up with the perfect meat veg pasta sauce combo.

I tried making beef jerky - I ended up with old shoe leather.

But the marinade was a home run, I'm willing to share:

- Japanese soy sauce
- dry white wine
- a tablespoon of brown sugar
- four drops of habanero sauce

This stuff:

Meat and fruit is always a tasty combo. Sautéed sausage and grapes is the easiest recipe ever.
Any sausage works. I like chorizo and merguez. Some variations on Google.
Interesting. I've put grapes in an omelette but not in pasta. I'll try it!
I've only made it with gnocchi or alone with a side dish, but worth a try on pasta.
Do you add other ingredients to the omelet? Fresh or cooked?
