leafs did it with only 22 shots on goal! even though that makes philly look bad (ie. esche)- it's the leafs that will have trouble with the low offence in the long run...they need to learn how to outshoot the opposing teams, something they couldn't do in the last 10 seasons, couldn't do in the preseason, and haven't done so yet this year...

but if you score alot on those limited chances as the Leafs have done, whats the big deal? all that'll come with Sundin back. Im more worried about their defense

that's exactly my point... they get outshot every game because they scramble in their own end. and it's not just the defencemen that are guilty of this. Ponikarovsky sucks ass when he's back checking- very inconsistent... same goes for Antropov and Tucker. One shift they'll do a great job, and then the next it's like they forget their roles.

as for 'that'll come when Sundin's back'... it hasn't in the last 10 years! for a team to play 'outshot' every game, they have to have consistently the best, and i mean #1 goalie for each and every game... no team has this kind of consistency forever... especially in the postseason. other than that, the statistics always win in the long run... more shots = more goals over the course of many games.

Well this is going to be the Flyers year. I dont expect them to win everygame but will be dissapointed if they lose more than 15,Flyrers-Rangers wednesday night on OLN.
Buddy, what have you been smoking. The Flyers will never win as long as Bobby Clarke is running the team. When speed and skill takes over in the new NHL he signs big slow defenceman like hatcher, Rathje. and not only does he over pay them, he signs them to long term deals which will haunt the Flyers now and in years to come. Forsberg was a great hockey player but his best days are far behind him. He is more injury prone that Lindros. Forsberg hasn't played a full season in over 5 years and that includes last year when there was no NHL.The Flyers would have been better off with Roenick. And let us not forget that Clarke is just a total asshole. Some of clarkes famous comments. "It's not our fault that he has cancer" refering to his firing of roger Nielson. The Flyers will make the Playoffs as a middle seed and will have an early exit from the playoffs.

I don't think anyone need look any further than the statement "I will be disappointed if they lose more than 15".

i don't think any team would be able to do that well this season, if so, maybe ottawa. although, i can picture some teams losing more than 50 games. i hope the leafs aren't headed down that path, but i think phoenix, pittsburgh, calgary, st. louis, and boston will all lose close to that number of games and some, perhaps, more.

Primeau Retiring?

The rumour floating in the media is that Keith Primeau's latest concusion may cause him to retire.
He is not making any progress.
I heard a short interview with him and he didn't sound too confident about returning.
That would be a huge loss for Philly :(

I hear the same thing A-Rod.

At the very least he is out a very long time.

Are they ready for this?

He is a monster in the room and he leads by example.

Who fills that void?

Has Forsberg been around long enough and is he that type of player?
