The CIA officers assigned to Sabri still argued within the agency that his information must be taken seriously, but instead the administration preferred to rely on Curveball. Drumheller learned from the German intelligence service that held Curveball that it considered him and his claims about WMD to be highly unreliable. But the CIA's Weapons Intelligence, Nonproliferation, and Arms Control Center (WINPAC) insisted that Curveball was credible because what he said was supposedly congruent with available public information.

That China bought the dog and pony show, says volumes about their intelligence program in the region.

He publicly presents intelligence for the first time to support Washington's claim that Iraq is hiding weapons of mass destruction and interfering with inspections. Merely because they did not agree at the time to more stringent action, doesn't mean that their intelligence services did not believe Iraqi still had WMDs.

Not at all, aside from the conundrum, if a man believes what he says is it a lie, there is no problem. Bush told the Intelligence department what he wanted to hear,told them to find it and it had little to do with the truth. Clearly you feel the comments made by Drumheller and Tenet are wrong and yet they were involved in the events closer than most and we weren't.
