The Aristocats, went with friends for a birthday party movie.
I threw up when I got home from too much pop, popcorn and cake.
One of the best parties.

Don't remember, but we used to take the Rossland bus to the Roxy in Woodbridge, or to the Fox or Biltmore on Weston Rd. It was a nickel each way on the bus plus a dime for a soft drink, and I think about a quarter for the ticket.
Holy 25 cents for a ticket!

I'm not 100% sure what my first movie was, but i know i saw Star Wars in the theatre. Maybe a Disney movie before that idk.

My brother used to occasionally take me to movies in Ottawa when we were kids. Probably Abbot and Costello were the first. circa 1956

The Blackboard Jungle, 1955 movie that I saw at 14 years old, about a New York city high school class starring Vic Morrow, Glen Ford and Sidney Pottier in his debut. Morrow played a tough bad ass student that threatened other classmates and his teacher Sandy Dennis with violent behavior which affected me as I was in my 2nd year in highschool in Toronto. Also, the movie started and ended showing Bill Haley and the comets singing the song Rock around the Clock on a live stage which got my interest in Rock music.

Apart from the porn movie I mentioned before, my real first theatre shown movies were Saturday matinee cowboy movies, alternating Roy Rogers and Gene Autrey, with cartoons to open, plus a Flash Gordon serial, with a cliff-hanger at the end of each episode.

Battle of Britain had to be in 1969 or early 1970, with my parents

I remember they played Oh Canada before it started everyone in the theatre stood and belted it out

Wondering now, looking back, if this is way I love war movies of all kinds now?

I can't quite remember the exact movie but I do remember that my first big screen movie viewing was at a Drive In in Ottawa (or near Ottawa, I can't remember exactly where.)

My mom and also my dad would take me to the Drive In a lot as a kid.

My dad and his girlfriend would sneak my step sister and I into R rated movies by covering us with blankets in the back seat when buying the tickets LOL.

I have really good memories of that Drive In.
