Is there a list somewhere of the bars open until 4AM?

All those on the martini boys list are open to 4 am....I think in reality any bar can apply for a extended license...it just depends on....will they...is it worth it to them

also some bars/clubs will not let everyone in....some host festival events ...meaning free booze and free food

I went to this TIFF thing yesterday and it was hoppin.

In attendance were Jeff Bridges, Cuba Gooding, Chris Martin, Bruce Cockburn, Tie Domi, although Domi is a regular there. Domi was on kitchen duty last night holding doors for waiters. I think that's his backup job if NHL collapses again.

Deep Dish was incredible. And, lots of eye-candy. Crowd averaged early to mid 30s.

At one point Dan Aykroyd got up addressing the crowd. I thought, please, don't break out into one of those irritating BluesBrothers routines.
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."

Tips for getting into one of these this week:
- check for guestlists on martiniboys, club websites, city tv promos
- come before 10
- bring a babe (gets you in anywhere)

Toronto Intl. Film Fest.

What's the inside scoop, parties, how do you get into the press area to take pix, when and where will the biggest stars be out?

Has anyone been to a gala at Roy Thomson Hall, how big is the crowd around the red carpet main entrance? pedestrians can walk down Simcoe St. during the galas.

Here is a list of parties:

Friday September 8th: CHUM's annual festival bash on Friday is a hard door to crash, yet routinely dull and systematic. This year it's called the Star! Schmooze and takes place in the CHUM building. Still, it's a good opportunity to mingle with Them, as the street is cordoned off for the event. If a celebrity is in town this week, chances are that they will be here.

Friday September 8th: On Bloor Street, Holt Renfrew throws its monster TIFF Party on Friday night. The Holt's TIFF feats are always Must Attend events, and this year's is sponsored by Burberry, as the brand celebrates its 150th-year anniversary. Held within the store (10:00pm Friday night!) a smattering of celebrities are expected: Christina Ricci, Diane Kruger, Dustin Hoffman and Sarah Polley are on the VIP guest list.

Friday September 8th: Friday night is Tommy Lee's party for his Tommy TV at Ultra Supper Club on Friday night. Forget movie stars, the party will literally revolve around Tommy Lee, with Chris La Roque mixing a selection of "analog bass, breakbeat and dirty electro house."

Saturday, September 9th: We're now knee-deep in celebs. The Hugo Boss VIP Party at the Hugo Boss Store in Yorkville is gearing up to be a huge draw. While Dan Aykroyd has his own party over at This Is London, celebrating the new release from the Black Eyed Peas.

Saturday, September 9th: Also on Saturday, MUZIK Rolls Out the Red Carpet for its own world premiere co-hosted by the Dominican International Film Festival. Expected to the feat are guests Samuel L. Jackson, Louis Gossett Jr., Spanish actress Paz Vega, John Abraham, Ronnie Hawkins and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, with performances by Cirque Envol. Party kicks off at 9:30 pm.

Things get interesting at the Panorama on the 51st floor of the Manulife Centre, when it's taken over by PokerRoom.com and Star! Daily – turning the space into the PokerRoom.com VIP Lounge, scheduled to host celebrities during the entire TIFF. Jameson Irish whisky will introduce their new Straight Flush cocktail, and there is strong buzz about the almighty (to the tune of $6,000.00) celeb “swag bags”.

Sunday, September 10th: The Shortbus party is at the Phoenix after the premiere of the movie, Christal Films has their big party at Kool Haus (Orange Room), while Cafe Mercurio on Bloor St. will be the venue for the UniFrance launch party – premiere grounds for the films from France.

Oscar-winner Matt Damon and Grammy-winner John Legend are among the celebrities confirmed for this year's One X children's benefit gala. Damon will host the second annual event, which benefits global children's charities, along with Sam Roberts, Gord Downie, K'naan, Sarah Harmer, Buck 65, The Payolas. One X is at the Carlu in Toronto.

Next Thursday, Forest Park Pictures throws a party at Ultra Supper Club with Hayden and Tove Christiansen expected, with DeepDish, featuring Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia at the decks. Samuel L Jackson is slated to be coming.

having gone a couple of years back to the box office to buy tickets at Eaton Centre for one movie I wanted to see, and seen the lineup up two flights of stairs and around the block, I came to the realization that this event is nothing more than hyped up for the pretentious set and waaaaaay too much effort to get tickets to a movie I will find online or in the foreign section of my local Blockbuster, just my two cents

Having done work for the TIFF in the past I too was present at the gala opening at RTH but the only star I saw were Steve Buscemi. This was before it became number 2 in the world but still, I thought I'd see SOMEONE.

There might be more eye candy now but we arrived by limo and did walk the carpet (I was with Welsey Snipe's lawyer) but dammit, no one wanted to take our pic!

Frankly IMHO it was all a bunch of wannbe's thinkin they're all that...like I said, might be more stars now that TIFF is number 2 in the world....

Maybe Cannes is still Number 1 in terms of tradition, but Toronto has more clout. The studios prefer it to launch their critical movies. In 2005 Toronto saw Capote, Walk the Line, Brokeback Mountain, Batman Begins, North Country....
For me Toronto is No.1.
