I was going to suggest the samething. With the bittorrent client i use everyone has to share and i've been getting way faster download speeds than with kazza and other programs. A couple of sites like suprnova have just about everything you could want.canucklehead said:Bigblack try bittorrent all the movies are there before they are out most of the time

..and they stopped their cap on up and downloads. It's unlimited.joebear said:ironic that Bell recently announced that they are rasing the speeds on the high speed and ultra high speed. Bell raised the speeds last year.
Bell knows high speed is being used for file sharing and yet raise the limits.
The clear difference here, however, is that in walking out of a store with a CD, you're taking something from someone who paid for it and who expects you to pay him/her to have them give it to you. That's not the mentality among those who are sharing music on the internet.Goober Mcfly said:MM: Try this: go into the nearest music store and walk out with a CD of an album you own without paying*. Use your statement above as defence.
</just saying is all>

thank you for your forgiveness!BigBlack said:You might not be sharing files soon but your info on this board has been so good, you're forgiven.

I realize my musical tastes may be different from others, but i have no use for file sharing programs. I can get away with simply using binary newsgroups. If you're looking for a particular song, then kazaa or others may be needed. But if you're just looking to build a massive musical library, then MP3 newsgroups are the way to go. No need to concern yourself with others uploading songs from your computer, no need to concern yourself with the connection speed of other computers you're dealing with, or getting cut off by someone. And no need to sit at your computer trying to think of a song you want. With a good server, and a good newsreader, everything is pretty much right in front of you as to what's available. And the quantities can be pretty damn astounding. I find myself downloading all kinds of songs that, frankly, i wouldn't have thought to search for in a hundred years. Not to mention songs that i wouldn't even care to search for, but since they're there, and only a point and click away, i grab 'em.tboy said:No, do it after it's complete. Say once a week or so. Btw you can also denote which folder your shared files are stored. In kazaa it doesn't have to be your default shared files folder.
