Fido vs. Rogers

I was in Best Buy for a charging cable and they started talking to me about updating my phone, which I've noticed is not running great lately and running out of memory. They say that they can update me to a better Samsung than I currently have for $0, similar plan and it will be about $40 less per month plus a $200 Best Buy card, but that is if I change to Fido from Rogers, with whom I have my phone, cable and internet all bundled for a bit of a discount.

Feedback? Plusses? Minuses? Coverage? Does Fido have something like Rogers' "roam like home"?

TIA

Rogers owns Fido so your coverage shouldn’t alter as they share the same towers. I personally prefer Fido’s customer service over Rogers. Since you’re bundled with Rogers though, I’d call their customer service line and tell them about the awesome deal you’re getting with Fido and they should match or beat it.

Rogers, Fido and Chatr are all brands of the same company - Rogers. All use the same network and have arguably the same quality of cell service...

Chatr being the cheapest of the 3, and is a BYOD only brand with GREAT prices. Best for people who only stay in the GTA, and they use speed throttling on data - only an issue if you typically watch videos with your phone

For your situation Fido is the best option using one of the TAB deals.

I was leaning towards that.

I was leaning towards that.
Fido's customer service (as previously mentioned here) is much better in comparison with Rogers, coupled with the fact that Fido's monthly billing tends to be accurate without having to spend hours on the phone to convince them to correct some erroneous mysterious charges on your statement, as is typically the case with Rogers.

Thanks for the replies.

I guess that I am also concerned about the reliability and range of their networks? The same as Rogers, at least in theory?

Your place!!
I have Fido , they have a roam plan, and I’ve used it all over the US and as far as BC . No complaints.

My cell is with Fido $40/month with unlimited text calling in Canada plus 3gb data. I switch my internet from Rogers to Fido. Fido has a promotion for 75mbs unlimited internet for $32.50/month. I cancelled my internet with Rogers and they can't beat Fido's price. So I'm happy with Fido for now. Plus I have a Fido cash back rewards Mastercard and pay my bills on it, and after 1 year you end up getting 1 month free service. I feel the Rogers bundle is rip off, if you shop around and find a better deal.

Thanks again. Time to put the screws to Rogers one way or another. Improve my plan or I'm switching.

I honestly DISLIKE rogers sooooo much!!! I was with them a couple years ago and they screwed me every damn way possible. SO annoying!!!
For the most part, they have provided pretty good service to me and I don't recall any major billing issues. But if I can save $500 a year, one-way loyalty only goes so far.
