Cubans are grieving, they have lost a father figure who was with them for a very long time. He was a hero who saved them from a brutal dictator, but was misguided in his socialist policies which left many Cubans in want. His brother was more open minded to capitalism.

Under his rule, all Cubans were educated for free, had free health care, and were even given a monthly supply of food and goods, and I believe shelter. It was supposed to be his vision of Utopia for his people.

Those in Miami who are out celebrating his death are clearly reacting very differently to their brothers and sisters in the homeland.

Castro as a kid wrote to FDR expressing his admiration for the USA. He originally reached out to the USA for help in defeating the dictator Batista who was propped up by the Mafia and US corporations who were raping the country. As the USA tends to do, they pick which dictators to support (Saddam H) or not support (Saddam H) depending on their business interests. As dictators go Castro was a bad dude but none of the other bad dudes in the world come close to delivering the health care, the literacy rate and the low child mortality rate that Fidel did. Hold your nose and move on to supporting the next dictator that the USA chooses.
