Rogers and Bell are in a tug of war for my business.

Rogers has offered me their new platform Ignite to keep me in the fold, anyone try it?

YT Red is getting on a roll, they're a major competitor to Netflix and Amazon Prime.

read the fine print because they have terms for both where they don't honour their commitments. W5 did a show on it.

Rogers gives shit upload speed. Bell gives symmetrical speeds if you are getting fiber optic to your house.

I recently sampled Siri vs Google, no comparison. It was like comparing a Chevy Cavalier to an Audi R8. Note, I'm biased. I've been with Google a long time, I was using Alta Vista before Google.

I use Rogers high speed and 95% of the time it runs super fast. 250 mb download and 20 mb upload.

I see the same amount of negative feedback for both companies. I am not too sure but I think most of the other providers run off of a Rogers or Bell network, so you may be using one of them even when you think you are not.

There may be some differences in the neighborhood where you live - One company may have a newer upgrade in terms of fibre delivery.

For now i will stick with Rogers unless the service drops off or they start gouging me for more money.

How fast you boyz need ?
Aside from the occasional file I download where the download speed is high, I've seen zero difference to my internet surfing when downloading at 20 mb, 30 mb or now at 60 mb. Sites seem the same, Netflix seems the same.

Many downloading sites will cap your download speed anyway, so even if you had Google Fiber it would make no difference if the site caps your access at 10 mb/s.

Interesting Occasionally, I'm going to sample Ignite - try before you buy.

Google, as a loyal 17 year customer, is offering me 3 months free on YT Red. They are producing original content, most of it from neophytes that have made their name on YT.

Here's one of their series. Haven't watched the pilot yet.

I'm sorry but you do not know what you are talking about. If you have bad upload speed, you need to open your wallet a bit for a faster connection. Its one of those "you get what you pay for" scenarios.

The sad thing here is that we are stuck between 2 companies that have a monopoly and for all intents/purposes collude on their pricing. i.e. there is no true competition.
The only price break you can expect is when your contract is done and then see which one will offer you a better deal. Usually, those deals are only for the first few months.

For every customer leaving Rogers for a better deal at Bell, there is a customer leaving Bell for a better deal at Rogers. Much like the insurance companies.
When Verizon was contemplating on coming to Canada, Bell & Rogers were losing their shit, taking out full page adds in the papers, and running tv commercials to convince us that we should be opposed to another company coming here.
We got screwed when Verizon decided not to come.
Personally, I thing Rogers/Bell paid them off to stay away, but that's just my opinion.

Get Bell: less wires to your house but when one service goes down they all go down.

I had to switch to Rogers since I sold an investment property with Bell and was still under contract with Rogers.

Rogers sucks ass, slower and less stable than Bell.
