..that Fletcher got all the control bandied about on this thread. I did like the Peddie/Fletcher presser....the Toronto media did not use kid gloves...including asking why Peddie was needed in the search for a permanent GM, when he had just hired a hockey man with over 40 yrs experience. A couple of shots were also taken at Fletcher, including asking why he would not make the same mistakes that got him fired....basically dismantling the team that went to the confenece final...and was 1 win from the finals ...within about a year...the core of that team was ripped out by Fletcher..

IN the end...Peddie is still going to have final say on the "permanent " GM..and that is scary...cause that dickwad knows sweet fuckall about hockey talent....

That's right, Dick the Prick Peddie and Gord Kirke and Fletcher will be choosing the new GM/President for the Maple Leafs. I hope Kirke and Fletcher overule Peddie, but I have the feeling he'll have the final say. This will probably rule out Scotty Bowman coming to TO since he was rejected by Prick last summer. Basically, what I'm hearing thru the media is Peddie got the Board to overrule Tanenbaum on bring Scotty on board. Prick face got out manoevred from Raptorland, he was succesful with the condos and the soccer team. He thinks he knows hockey, NOT!!!!!

I think that was one of the reasons why fletch was brought in, to work his magic and try to trade sundin for a future captain. just like he did 14yrs ago. I cant wait until the house cleaning begins with this teams. Its long overdue.

...the team is doing the wrong thing...playing reasonably well over the last 6 games...if they beat the Caps on Thursday..and win a couple games after the All
Star game..watch out...there will be tweaking at the deadline to attempt to get them in the playoffs...

I know they won tonight....but is there a softer defense corps in the league.??..watch the difference when the Leafs cycled the puck...they were having the body laid on them at every turn....meanwhile the Caps were able to move around, virtually unobstructed by any physical contact from the Leafs...Ian White is way too small to play in this league...Woz is just too clumsy, slow physically and mentally...the whole defense sucks..and it sucks in better than 1/2 the salary...they were lucky to win on Wednesday....Toskala saved their ass....not sure they will be so lucky in Washington...
