Federal Liberals can't decide if Wynne's support hurts or helps

Typical Liberals -- they just can't make up their minds. :)

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...-bane-for-trudeau-in-ontario/article25976807/

Nonetheless, I thought the article was interesting.

Most votes will be based on impressions of the federal leaders so I suspect Wynne doesn't matter much one way or the other. That said, the sex-ed curriculum could be a factor in parts of the 905.
Wonder if the Conservatives will feel the same if the last two Conservative premiers of Alberta publicly offer their support to the Conservatives? :)

You notice the ad running on tv showing Wynne jogging and talking about issues like stopping "climate change" (what a farce btw). Why do you think they are running this ad, there isn't another provincial election for 2 years. I'm sure this is trying to boost the federal Libs but it doesn't seem to be resonating with voters. This definitely should help the Conservatives in the 905,519,613 regions.

Wynne has run out of gas with the people of Ontario, not to mention run out of their money. Who wouldn't want to vote liberal? Look at all the great things these fine folks have given the people of Ontario,

- forced pension plan written on a blank cheque
- the highest hydro rates in North America
- a spiffy new carbon Tax
- 3 police investigations
- 2 canceled gas plants
- Ehealth
- Ornge
- Deleted emails
- turning Ontario into the worlfd's largest non-sovereign debtor
- the de-industrialization of Ontario
- a public sector that grew 3 times faster than GDP
- a "dedicated" health tax that was never dedicated to health

If Trudeau thinks that Wynne is going to help his cause he's delusional, then again this is the guy who proposed care-bear economics and building the economy from the heart. That made me feel all fuzzy inside just before I truly felt embarrassed for him. Yet I laughed my ass off at how stupid this man truly is. He needed a Keith Davey as an advisor, not Gerald Butts. This just goes to show how Trudeau lacks any gravitas or diliberate thinking needed to steer a country.

Just because you misunderstood what he was saying, doesn't make what he was saying stupid. It was a denial a "trickle down" economics and more focus on those in need. But people saw an easy target in his wording and so the message is lost.

Agree about Wynne and the Ontario Liberals. They've caused this province massive problems. She's not likely to help Trudeau.

That was only good thing the Liberals have done in the last 10 years. They have been a disaster from the beginning. Worst government in the history of this province. Wynne has been there since the beginning.

The worst Government was definitely the Mike Harris Government. People in the North part of the city have to quietly put up with the highest toll charges in the universe. A sweetheart deal by the Harris Government. This price gouging far exceeds the Hydro, Water, Electricity yara yara charges that the right wing keeps on trumpeting all the time.

Its not just the rightwing that is complaining about Hydro, Wynne's privatization scheme will make the current rip off rates why worse, they'll be brutal.

She compaigned like she was Tommy Douglas and she turned out to be Mike Harris 2.0, continuing his legacy of destroying this provinces electric system. Andrea Horwath is having a great time of it.

Mark my words Andrea will be Premier.

As to why the ads, the truth is she's trying to distract from her hydro debuckle and mismanagement of healthcare system.

I do agree I like her sex education changes, but I think they should go farther and include BDSM amoung other things.

Andrea will increase taxes and be less fiscally responsible. Although Wynn is not my choice for Premier there is more hype about the Liberals wasteful policies from the right wing media that the left are even buying. By the way Ontario has one of the best Health Care Systems in Canada as compared to other provinces. An ambulance can cost over $1000 for a one time use in provinces like Saskatchwen. Many families with sick family members have moved out of that province to Ontario and further East.

Please!!! Yet another lefty minion speaks. It's your choice to use or not use the 407, hence a discretionary purchase. Hydro on the other hand is not a discretionary purchase and you have no choice but to purchase it, and there's only one source for it. Therein lies the difference, you can live without ever using the 407, but you can't go long without hydro. And the ontario liberals are the worst government in the history of the province, they've even hired thier own electorate in the form of an overinflated public service who's growth was 3 time the rate of GDP.

Like you are non biased. So it makes sense for people to drive south to the 401, and then drive north again. I can understand prices going up but not 20 times what they were at the start of the toll system. Won't surprise me if the Harris Government are paid some bonuses from this sale. At least the Wynn Government will offer their part of the 407 toll free when it is built. Does Ezra Levant give you all that BS about the Public Service growth rate? If this brings in jobs to the failing Harper economy then kudos to her. We somehow need more jobs in Ontario as a result of the recession brought on by Harper.

We should considering how much we spend on health care in the province. Still our health care system is below average compared to other OECD countries. Far too long to see a specialist or get certain surgical procedures. Long waits in emergency depts. Eye tests and physio not covered under OHIP.

Off course it needs to improve. The problem is that specialists and doctors are paid so well because they are easily prised south of the border if the wages are held back. Still provinces like Alberta have not invested in the Health Service and as a result many unemployable people have moved to BC to take advantage of a better health system in that province.

Harper brought on the recession? Last time I looked, Harper had no influence over global oil prices. nor does he control the economic contraction in China or the and devaluation of their currency. Like it or not, Canada is a global supplier of natural resources, oil, iron ore, nickel, chromium. (Scratch that last one, Wynne used the money to build a road to the chromium on windmills and sold the power at a loss of a billions, she could have built several roads to the ring of fire.) Nor did he bankrupt your province or Quebec, that was all done under the liberals. As far as the growth rate of Ontario's public sector, turn to Stats Can and read. I don't read, watch or listen to that half baked cretin Ezra Levant. And for the record, Wynnne will go down as the worst premier in the history of Ontario.

So you like Harper agree that Canada is in a recession after all the stupid denials and boasts about how well the Canadian economy is doing under his wing. So blame the oil industry that is only 2% of the economy. Yet Harper put all his eggs in one basket and did not invest in the other 98%. Yet you forget that he was given a decent surplus under the previous Liberal Government. Look at what Obama inherited under the previous right wing Government. The USA are hardly affected by the So called global factors that poor Harper seems to have fallen prey. Look where the US dollar is compared to the Canadian dollar. Your Alberta conservative premiers were crooks in the way they lavished themselves. That is why the voters dumped them. So now you are pointing your finger at the Wynn Government. By the way the Chinese currency was devalued very recently. You are telling me that this contributed to Canada's recession. Really???

Oh Boy where to begin

Ok how about comparing our resourced based economy to the most divsified , dynamic economy in the world
Apple vs Apples. I think not

He put all his eggs in one basket ??
Shows what you understand about the power a PM has to alter the structure of our resourced based economy.
(very little power in fact)
Did I mention Canada has a resourced based economy?
Always has, likely always will

Ontario used to have quite a bit of manufacturing, before free conservative policies like free trade.
Harper allowed the cdn dollar to rise through oil sales, which hurt manufacturing in Ontario, amongst other issues.
That was the choice he made, to support Alberta and tar sands against manufacturing in Ontario.

Precisely. Yet this fact seems to fall on deaf ears by the right wing. Amazing how they follow this man especially after his attacks on people like us who are or were involved in consensual sex with women who willingly make a decent living out of it.

When I read the comments of the leftist in this country, in the papers or even this forum, sounds like every middle class person for himself.

Before, I used to remember it was about Canada, moving forward as a nation together. (Even though, there were some problems, probably still exist, at least willing to work together).

Nowadays, seems like the politics is out to get someone.

Ironically perhaps, this polarization of politics will likely get more lay people involved.

In the spirit of today's politics, I truly hope Harper wins a convincing majority like they did in England, and Harper puts the boots to the unions and special interests, and major taxes cuts for us.

That's the problem with Harper, he's mean spirited, but not hard. He has to do more for the right. Muclair is a hard man. If he wins, he will without a doubt do something for the left. That's why I never liked Harper, never does enough.

As for Tredeau, I like him the most. Bare foot and pregnant type of guy/personality.

If he puts out a hard right wing anti-statist platform, he'll run away with this election.

Your comment show how little you know, and shows how much you people buy into the left-liberal bullshit. Here's a little know fact, the oil sands are not just holes dug into the earth, the processing centres are massive multi billion dollar complexes. Would you care to guess where all the components for these plants came from? If you guessed Ontario and Quebec, you'd be spot on, the thousands of kilometres of stainless steel pipe, the pumps, frothing vessels and the list is endless, all came from central Canada, not to mention a large portion of the workforce to build these places.

Ontario sunk itself, through its misguided economic policies like the green energy scam etc.
