Have used many different shampoos and found a wide variance in quality. These are my favourites:

1) Amplify by Matrix

2) Volumax

3) Pert

4) Thermasilk

I continue to try different ones & perhaps come up new favourites. What are your favourite shampoos ?

Save your money and make your own shampoo:

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and store in an empty shampoo container:

* 3 beaten eggs
* 1 teaspoon of cream of tarragon
* 2 cups of boiled water
* 15 ounces of palm kernal oil
* 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
* 1/2 teaspoon of cayene pepper
* 3 cloves (crushed)
* A dash of cider vinegar
* 15 ounces of lye
* 4 ounces of natural beeswax

Make sure that you shake the bottle before you use it.

That's what Grannie on Beverly Hillbillies used. She used to brag about how good it made her skin look. LOL

The doctor is in
Shampoo is shampoo.. just like The Donald says. Sure, I might get stuff from the salon every now and again i.e.( American Crew) but by and large, it's a waste of money.

Right now I'm using Suave two in one, simply because I love the aroma. They don't manufacture it anymore, but I managed to stock up on the stuff about 12 years ago when I learned they were taking it off the market. If I remember correctly, the price per bottle was around two bucks. It reminds me of what the original Pears shampoo was like before they started screwing around with the formula.

The cleaning component is essentially the same from shampoo to shampoo. If you want to spend your money wisely, it would be more worth while to spend it on conditioner.

That being said, salon products feel and smell better. The scent is the most important part and grocery store stuff doesnt compare. I also find that a lot of cheap shampoos dont rinse well and leave the hair feeling heavy and dull.

As a hairstylist, I would not recommend buying any "salon" products in Shoppers. Many times they are old or watered down. It states clearly on the bottle that it's not guarunteed unless sold at a salon. You can get it for the same prices at Beauty Supply Outlets.

I used to use shampoo's from the KMS line as well as Biolage's Hydrating shampoo. I recently switched to a shampoo called Abba and it's a hydrating shampoo as well. Most stylists will recommend a hydrating shampoo for the wintertime and I would only recommend buying shampoo's at salons.

It'll cost you roughly $12-$15 for a 300ml bottle that will last you over 3 months. If you go to Shoppers or Walmart and pick-up some trash like Pantene Pro V, most likely your hair won't turn out as good, and you'll have a burned scalp.

It's worth throwing down alittle more money for something thats better for you.

At a Medium Pace

...just wondering to which shampoo Adam Sandler was referring to in his song "At a Medium Pace".
