As I sit here drinking a bit of Stella Artois, it occurs to me that I may be missing out on other great beers.

So, what's everyone's favourite beer?

I like:

Stella Artois
Sleeman's Honey Brown
Rickard's Red
Alexander Keith's Pale Ale
Alexander Keith's Red
Guiness (once in a blue moon)
Heinecken
Bow Valley Brown (a micro brewery beer in my neck of the woods)

And a few others I can't recall...

Corona Extra
Hoegaarden

Recently tried a local product, Mill Street's organic lager and I find it rather smooth and refreshing. Like it too.

If you want to find out what beer(s) you like drink them at room temperature. The flavor is not masked by the cold.

Someone who actually knows how to drink good beer. The cold frosty hype that gets thrown out in various commercial is poor bunk. Beer should be had cool but not frosty cold.

The habit of drinking shelf beer in Britain is barbaric, but now that most pubs, at least those still open, can now afford fridges, that tradition is disappearing slowly.

Caffrey's is a good Irish choice too. But, def Kilkenny #1.

also, i spent a few years playing hockey in Germany and found many good beers there, too. They have a 'purity law' where beer must be made from only water, barley and hops... it's amazing how well some breweries can do with variations in simple ingredients...

Germany would make any body's head on a visit. Too many beers not enough time. But as a group of beers anything made by any of those Trappist monks get my nod. I tend to favour dark beers as well.

In a pinch anything but Cinci. That could be another thread; wouldn't you be caught dead drinking. A close second would be Blatz from the US; had to to try just for the name.

I usually buy value beer , sometimes i'll splurge and buy the more expensive stuff when they have deals i;e: 28 for 24 , 20 for 15

lakeport pilsner
carling
james ready 5.5
laker lager
lucky
maclays
red cap ( red cap stubbies! from strange brew eh! )
old mill
busch

canadian,blue,bud,moosehead,steamwhistle

the government quietly raised the prices on cheap beer this year , no more "buck a beer" , they claim if its too cheap , you may abuse it.

In the summer I like Steam Whistle -- crisp and refreshing. In the winter I prefer a darker beer like Tankhouse. My draft of choice in any weather is Creemore.

Other faves... Steigl, Staropramen, Tiger

to me cold beer is much like chilled wine. You just kill the flavor and body of the drink.
