I was down loading Flight Tracker for my SP for a trip she is making soon and ended up downloading Flight Radar 24. It is totally useless but I am fascinated that I can see a map of all commercial flights anywhere in the world. The basic is free but I paid $2.99 to see everything - e.g. current heading, current speed and altitude, type of aircraft. I was playing with it and the first plane I found was a direct private flight from Lebanon to Toronto. I knew where he was and could monitor his approach to YYZ in real time.

Google Maps. I use it daily for business. Has never let me down for direction or local restaurants. Glad I didn't have an iPhone when they released their crap maps. Apple has finally allowed their users to download Google Maps. It's about time!

Galaxy S 3 Driving Mode for Jelly Bean

When I got my Galaxy S3 there was two types of audible notifications I could access with the pull down menu. 'Notifications' gave me a little whistle when a text or e-mail is received. 'Driving Mode' is a further detailed in that it gives a voice message ex. 'text from big bimbo' . It is handy while driving but could be embarrassing any other time.

I notice that Jelly Bean only left 'Blocking Mode' to replace 'notifications'. Driving mode switch now buried in the options menu: language -> text to speech output (last item). This is a royal pain if you frequently use it like I do.

There is a widget that you can add from 'Play' aptly named Driving Mode Widget. It is a little green dot that you can put on any page and has a simple push on - push off functionality for Driving Mode.

Yup. As a little experiment for the last two weeks, whenever I went out somewhere, even if I knew the directions, I used Apple Maps to route me.

I had zero issues. Correct directions every time.

I started this exacted same thread a while back these were mine:

Tunin Radio-Allows you to listen to radio stations from all over the world
ihandy-turns your phone into a flash light
Canadian police scanner- lets you listen in on the police radio frequencies to hear what's going on (only good when the toronto frequency is working)
Shazam is a pretty neat little gizmo as well

I notice :eyebrows:

From internet definition of a troll: "The noun troll may also refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted."

I admire yours and djk's defense of any infallibility of an Apple product or software when the technical realities of the world are surrounding you. I'm sure the proponents of a flat world or evolution would sympathize but if you are reverting to name calling in your frustration of a crumbling defense, might I suggest 'Apple hater', 'non-believer', 'poophead', etc over your constant troll posts calling other people trolls ? It actually hurts your credibility from factual to just an emotional nonsensical outburst.

Of course just IMO.

So, if my experience has been positive and contradicts your option, Apple is infallible? Ooooook.

Who was referencing opinions ? You might be happy just with the shiny reflection from the Apple logo. Good for you.

I am also very happy you found a geographical area that the Apple maps worked well. I happen to experience an area where the Apple maps got us lost in Atlanta and instead of using Apple maps in my friends iPhone - I used Google maps to get us back to the location we were looking for. Now iPhone has Google maps and it works great. So Apple screwed up to the point they actually apologized. Maybe it took a little brightness off the infallible Apple myth but it is still a great company. Learn to live with it.

Apple/Mac are obviously superior products when so many attack it. I have seen nothing on this forum to equal peoples hate for a product! I have found over my longish life on this planet that people tend to attack anything of high quality they can't afford. The stupid thing is that it matters not one iota who uses what, and why anyone else should give a sh*t!

So? No other company/person in the history of humans on earth has EVER screwed up?? But when a company making great products has a glitch, they are the demons? Holy sh*t is the world being over run by morons?

Yes the attacks about Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lear jets ..... all expensive - all hated by those that can't afford them!

Some Apple owners are so defensive and paranoid. The concept that a better product can exist at a lower price just drives them crazy! (I say some because I own some Apple products - but I am proud to say I follow technology - not brand loyalty).

Tell me - who would ignore every bad review and even a manufacturer's acknowledgement - to say the fault doesn't exist ??? So how do you define a moron - a non-Apple believer ?.
