The Office was one of the few shows that the Americans did better then the British. Mind you I do love Ricky Gervais...
The first four/five seasons of the Office rivalled Seinfeld as the greatest sitcom. But the Office had a serious drop in quality in the later seasons whereas Seinfeld remained excellent right until the end.

I didn't watch a lot of sitcoms the last few years but Brooklyn 99 was a favorite. I was sad to see it come to an end but I'm also glad it went out on a high note and didn't overstay its welcome.

What We Do In The Shadows is my current favorite comedy. Absolutely hilarious deconstruction/parody/satire of vampires and horror in general. The entire cast is great but Harvey Guillen is the stand-out. Matt Berry should have won the Emmy for the brilliant Jackie Daytona episode.

I also really enjoyed Rutherford Falls and can't wait for the second season. Ghosts is another current favorite.

IMHO M*A*S*H* was a melo-drama-comedy. There were aspects of all 3 intertwined. FYI the 8063rd and 8055 aka 80 double nickel were ACTUAL US MASH Units in Korea. My father in law was a patient at the 8063rd and said the care he got was top notch. Of course the 4077 was fictional. He loved the show in the later years when Col. Potter was the CO.

eddie kerr is so old that his favorite comedy show was on radio.
LOL. I may be sooooo old, but I swear as God is my witness I saw that on tv. And considering I have now reached the 80 mark, my memory isn't too bad. Now where in the hell did I leave my drink.??

@eddie kerr: Props for being up so late, (11:45 PM +). Most guys your age eat their supper at 4 PM and go to bed after Jeopardy!, so they can wake up the rooster in the morning.
LOL. My secret is that I have my first beer around 5pm. I know Jimmy Buffett says it's 5 o'clock somewhere. Dinner at 7,with my first glass of wine, finish the bottle around midnight while browsing on terb etc. Bed at 1-2 am, pee at 6, out of bed around 9, do nothing all day until 5pm and start all over again.Life changes when golf season opens. I hope.

When I was a kid my pediatrician was a MASH veteran, don't think I ever knew the unit, though...

I always liked Chris Elliot. Used to watch his show. My girlfriend asked me at the time "who watches this?" I said "no one except die hard fans like me"

Thanks, Von. Remember Super Dave but never really liked his schtick. Same with Jerry Dee on Canadian Family Feud.
