Because COVID was only a big deal because it effect hospitals too much. Most of us have been saying this from the beginning. If there wasn’t such a strain on hospitals, it would have been treated the same as the flu. Sadly, this was not the case for many countries around the world. Their Hospital capacity could not handle COVID cases.

If COVID still gets spread but doesn’t put people in the hospital, then no one cares. I don’t see how this is any big news.

So there is no way that over the course of two years, that hospitals have not been able to treat better, faster, and increase capacity right? No way we learned anything over the last two years to help us and no way that even with hospital numbers on the rise right now, that we have still not hit capacity issues right???? There is no way any of that is possible and plausible to ensure that right now, we are ok. No way that if we get close to capacity again that restrictions will come back either right???? Nope. Hey - you know damn well that I have always supported “My Body, My Choice”. I have been very vocal about that. As well as how uncomfortable I was with the division of vaxxed vrs unvaxxed. I have been very central on the total topic of COVID as a whole. Seeing points on both sides. I agreed with taking the vaccine for me but never pushed for anyone else.

Lots of heat in this tread, but precious little light. Back to the basics, epidemiology 101. Every transmission of this virus provides an opportunity for it to mutate. Chances are small, but if you multiply by thousands and thousands of transmissions it becomes inevitable. Not every mutation is gonna be bad news, but it's only gonna take one.
