The results of the neutrino experiments is certainly fascinating, but there is still a distinct possibility of measurement error that led to the speeds of the neutrinos being detected being slightly faster than the speed of light. Also, to my knowledge, Einstein's general theory of relativity does allow for special circumstances of objects moving faster than the speed of light (I'm not a physicist, so if any of you on TERB are, please correct me if I'm mistaken).

Clearly, the results of this study will need to be replicated or verified, as part and parcel of the scientific process. There may yet be other explanations for the results obtained, so it's important to be cautious about reaching premature conclusions.

One of these days cern will succeed in creating a stable black hole that will eat the planet. That will change everything.

You are correct, Einstein's equations make it impossible for something to accelerate to the speed of light, does not take into account something that might already be traveling faster
Bah Einstein couldn't even hold his own vs Hawking

Albert E has a couple good lines
"so take a seat steve - oh I see you brought your own" and
"I'm the giant whose shoulders you'd have stood on if you could stand"

But nothing tops
"I'm a super computer, you're like a Ti-82"
