Napoleon Bonaparte was shorter than 5' 6', his last name translates into "good prick".

Cute-Bald should try being Beethoven; not only was he 5'2", very grumpy and a bit of a chair puller. He also composed some of his greatest works when he was completely deaf.

Cause I was busy today. Ladyraven.... numerous , no thousands of threads on P.O.F. & articles on the FACT that it is women who have an issue with dating short men. The only 2 girlfriends I have had in the past were 6' tall. It is not I that am rejecting advances unless obese. Anyway this argument has been beaten to death.

5'8" is NOT short... There's no way. Not tall, but not short. The average height is 5'9". So, if you say anything below average is short, then yes. But that's a screwy definition.

I consider short anything 5'6" and under for a man and 5'1" and under for a woman.

Trust me, cute-bald is right when he says we shorter men have it harder. Everyone already knows that. And women can be very superficial. Even if you have other great qualities, your height (or lack thereof) can be enough for a woman to not even consider you.

But being negative about it won't do anything. I've learned to accept it. Men like young, skinny, hot women. If you're old, fat, or ugly, men aren't usually interested. It's just the way things are. Too bad for those men and women who aren't considered attractive.

Ladyraven, the news articles & research are overwhelming in number & conclusion that women have a STRONG bias against short men. I read that article you posted & 1 other article awhile a go. There is 2 articles in a sea of studies done that find otherwise & also show 80% of tall men are married by 30 in the U.S & reversly 10% of short men by age 30.
To those who think 5'8" is not short i got news for you, surveys & dating site forums show women NOW think 5'10" is short. More & more will not "settle" with any man under 6' & my height of 5'5.5" is NOW considered " super short". I did NOT approched the tall women. They approached me & YES there is according to studies about 1% of tall women who have a " fetish" for short men. As one comedian asked in one of his routines: There is a fetish for everything nowa' days. When will there be a fetish for short men?

Cute-bald, the reason some women on dating sites won't go for guys under 6' is that all the guys on dating sites add a few inches to their height in dating profiles; 5'9" or 5'10" in reality is still plenty for the women. I'm 5'10" (maybe 5'10.5") and I have no trouble (and I have friends not as tall as me who I know list themselves as 6' in their dating profiles). It's only physical, emotional, and intellectual super-midgets like you that are out in the cold, where you belong.

Some cultures stretch their neck to look more attractive, it's easy to do. Just add another ring each month and you'll be a foot taller very quickly.
