Another bit of trivia.........who sang backup to Elvis? She was a famous singer in her day and today more famous due to her daughter's unbelievable singing career..........there was some magic in the genes that was passed on for sure.
Emily "Cissy" Houston, Whitney's mom..

Very good. Cher, born Cherilyn Sarkisian, sang back up to many of Phil Spector's groups in the sixties and that's where she met Sonny and became lovers and then married. Sonny worked for Phil as a writer, arranger and producer. I always thought Cher had some native Indian in her, but I'm wrong, had an Armenian father and a mother with a lot of European blood. Interesting reading how all these stars lived prior to making it.

Excellent! Not many people knew that, born Emily Drinkard, she was a fabulous singer in her day and has an Emmy to her name. Sang backup to many, many great singers, in addition to her solo career.

Great clip for the most part. The one weak spot was when Bono tried to sing at minute 1:10. Bono is / was a great singer (he was better 20 years ago, but hey, who wasn't?) but his voice is not cut out for Gimme Shelter. Never was.

Loved hearing the Edge spin on the guitar at about 1:40 of Gimme Shelter as well. That would be a trip seeing Jagger, Fergie and U2 on the stage at the same time.

Gotta admit though that Jagger lit up that stage when he walked out. Just watching the clip, you could feel the energy in the room ignite when they realized it was Mick walking out. Without a doubt, the Number 1 Frontman of all time. Never been anyone like him before or since.
