Like all advertising, the goal is to create awareness, drive interest and ultimately increase business (advertising should be considered an investment not an expense). In doing so it also creates an expectation and to an extent a "contract" (thats why the gov't will take action where "false advertising" is clear").
If an SP wants to drive "one time" visits, great pics will go a long way. Hence the who B&S scam and the popularity of tools like Tineye and Google. They are only worried about one transaction and either dont care or move on after the first (usually a disappointment for the client). The assumption is there is a sucker born every minute, so there will always be a "next".
The other extreme is SP's who create an impression, image and expectation that they fully meet or actually exceed during a meeting. The ones that become "legendary"
And in the middle there are those that create an expectation and dont fully live up to it but still its a good experience - often reported as "a little heavier than the pics", "little saggy", "the best CBJ".
Im not a Tattoo fan. Always would prefer no tats. Not judging the person, just my preference in looks (like perky natural breasts, nice butt, etc). Like most people, I can overlook somethings for the rest of the package. Or they can add to the rest of a package I dont like anyway. If my expectation is set by "no tat" pics, my disappointment is the SP's creation, not mine. Just like if that incredible looking butt ends up being flat and cheesy with a lot of Photoshop work or a "GFE experience" that doesnt kiss.
Understand the SP's desire for privacy. I assume if you have a clear facial pic, then removing the tats is hardly for personal privacy or safety. For that matter, in many cases, even without a face showing I somehow wonder if naked pics dont pretty well identify someone to someone who is familiar with a womans naked body. But just a thought.
So, my preference is for full disclosure - either leave the tats in or clear disclosure they have been removed. ANY Photoshop or image manipulation should be disclosed, just like any restrictions in service.
Create interest and excitement - absolutely. Lure me in with seductive pictures and great verbage - for sure. Disappoint me by creating an image that isnt delivered (looks, personality, service) - thanks, but no thanks.
So in the end, its no different than cars, restaurants or other advertisers. Just that when its done right, its a LOT more fun!
My personal taste, which drives my personal buying decisions. But, isnt that what TERB is about - sharing personal experience?
