The much hyped IPO of the second coming of Christ is out today.
Facebook.
Seems Bono from U2 made about a billion dollars today, but the rest of us mere mortals who can only buy shares after they IPO are not so fortunate.
Shares hit the street at low to mid 40's and have now fallen to 38.
Which begs the question - is facebook a buy or not?
My personal opinion would be nay. I don't see FB as another google frankly. (Though if there was ever a contrarian indicator - it has to be me.)
But realistically, where does facebook grow from here? (Yahoo was once the golden child of internet sites and where is it now?)
I deleted my FB page months ago as I'm mid 40's and the whole thing seemed silly to me. GM recently said it was abandonning FB as well as it saw little return for its cost (GM had dumped 40 mil into FB). Can others be far behind? Does one need BOTH a webpage AND a FB page in order to sell widgets?
