I'm no expert, but I would think most guys call with their mind already made up (after seeing pics, reviews, or just taking a leap). I'm not sure why guys would be calling and nothing happening other than for things falling through on the sp's end.
When I worked with my first agency, we posted our ads on CL. We would receive a huge burst of calls, with question and inquiries. People would seriously just look at the picture, and not even bother reading the ads! Sometimes they wouldn't even know a name. They would just call, ask for a description, ask where we were located...essentially, they wanted us to spout out the ads again over the phone, with additional answers to frivolous questions. There were a ton of hang-ups, or gentlemen saying "Oh, you're too far", "You're too expensive.", "I don't like black or Asian girls" "Can you lower your price to 170 for an hour out-call to Brampton/Hamilton/Mississagua/Scarborough/Richmond Hill?". Lots of haggling on the phone about prices, location or people that hung up for no reason.

The number of calls would probably materialize into appointments: 1/10. Not all guys use review boards, or hobby enough to know of their existence. (I'm sure it would make the lives of ladies that advertise on CL much easier, if they could cross-reference them to the boards...)

What I say to Miss. Raven -- hustle! Work another job when things get slow, so you won't feel so frustrated.

For god's sake do not tell Jessi that! With just one degree she is a hard enough to keep enchanted during a conversation! If she gets her Masters we will all be stugling!
Yes thank you. I have a university degree. Unfortunately my new job does not pay enough for me to get by on. Hence my reason for still being here.

I know many people who have gone through university to become waitresses. Just because one has an education does not make them employable. Sure one could have gotten a degree in a more in demand feild, but not everyone is cut out to do business, law, engineering, etc.

GRR...

It is happening to me again. I posted an ad earlier today (just one) and now I am getting that annoying message!

This business has been around LONG before there was a CL, and would continue to be around if CL were to disappear tonight. (perhaps better off IMO)

Generally speaking, if an independent SP doesn't earn enough to place one little ad in Eye or Now every other issue, then that SP just doesn't have the earning ability to be viable in this business.

The whole notion of completely fee and unaccountable advertising for commercial interests is preposterous, IMO.

You would be surprised how many guys just call random numbers without reading/looking at the ad to see if it is what they are looking for.
