Dont know too much about exra to judge but there sure is a heap of hypocracy to Mr Suzuki. i.e. dont do as I have.....I will just enjoy my 3 homes etc......
Also heard he loves to give speeches that he charges upwards of $30K to discuss corporate greed

With the international recognition that Suzuki gets from people, governments and organizations far more knowledgable about his fields of expertise and who actually work with him. I not too worried about you claims. Now as far as Levant id concerned, it was said earlier, he's a dick.

The guy is well off and owns more than one house, big deal. If people will pay him $30,000 then they must think he's worth it. They could always say no.

Suzuki is the "Grampa Simpson"* of the environmental movement. I remember him driving the global cooling bandwagon in the '70s. Why should we believe him this time.

*That was from a leading climate scientist.

Wow, a well known unnamed scientist, that settles that then.

Suzuki is a self serving dick. Hes as much of a capitalist as the ones he maligns....maybe even more so. But it is ok for him? Why? And if he truly cares why wouldnt he speak for a nominal fee? Hes raking it in and guys like blackrock are too nieve to see the pot being black.......
Cant say I blame him for making money on an issue/movement etc BUT when he does the OPPOSITE to what he is spouting off about it kills his credibility.....

What wrong with him being a capitalist, We get paid for two things, what we know, and what we can do. If he really cares? Wtf! They invite him, he tells them how much, and they agree or disagree. Don't do much lecturing or public speaking do you? His credibility is strong enough that world leaders believe him and act on his message, some reluctantly, but they respond. Unlike you, I've met the man and seen him in action up close. The $30,000 is not a set fee, just one example of one appearance. sometimes he asks more and sometimes less and it gets plower back to other ventures.

I could name two or three speakers who charge starting in the $50,000+, it's not that hard, a comedian, a sports broadcaster, and a sport Hall of Famer. The comedian was a big surprise, most of you would not know him.

Troy Aikman or Steve Young would start you asking $50,000. What do you think you they could tell you that would be worth $50,000?

You said he take money, lots of money, makes money lots of money, and rants about others who do the same, no mystery. Being a Capitalist is not a bad thing, can you say Warren Buffit, but being a nasty, lying, back stabbing, blood sucking Capitalist is, can you say Mitt Romney.

Speaking of Branson

Virgin Radio on air without fuss in Toronto

TORONTO -- Virgin took to the Canadian airwaves yesterday, without the pomp and ceremony most of have come to expect from the irreverent brand.

BY TIMES COLONIST (VICTORIA) AUGUST 26, 2008

TORONTO -- Virgin took to the Canadian airwaves yesterday, without the pomp and ceremony most of have come to expect from the irreverent brand.

Partnering with Astral Media Inc., Virgin Media Group launched Virgin Radio 999 across Toronto, marking Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson's first foray into the North American radio market. The new adult-contemporary station replaces Astral's Mix 99.9FM.

Branson charged up Toronto's Yonge Street at the head of a column of Hummers last October to unveil new product offerings from Virgin Mobile Canada.

The move comes less than two weeks before the Virgin Festival's two-day rock concert in Toronto, at which Branson is scheduled to appear.

Virgin International Radio operates similar stations in France, Italy, India and Dubai.

I can't believe some of the jaded logic being spewed here, do you really expect David Suzuki to live like a mendicant friar? He knows his purpose has a message and knows how to work the system, good for him. Levant is just wasting oxygen.
