Why right wing? Seemingly this came out of a petition drive in Finland.
I haven’t researched this at all...It just sounds like Right Wing, libertarian, anti-govt kinda thinking to me. Pretty sure I’m right.

Scrap it.

I guess it does help out a bit with people's waking hours with a bit of extra sun, but unless perhaps you are a farmer and need extra time, the avg person doesn't need it. Nor do I think IMO, the avg joe even cares about bumping the clock back and forth an hour every 6 months.

This is a where in the time zone are you type thing.

Toronto is fairly far west in the Eastern Time Zone hence more light in the evening and not nearly as much pressure for Daylight Savings Time now if you are quite far east in your time zone as is Chattanooga, Tennessee, and without Daylight Savings Time you have a very early sunrise but likewise far less light in the evening you like Daylight Savings Time a lot!

I'm sure humans are smart enough to live life without the need for adjusting a clock 60 minutes back and forth.

Before railroads and the need for time zones -- indeed noon was when the sun was overhead and clocks were reset throughout the year.

These days rather hard to do that when you find that that you missed your flight or train because Toronto being to the east of you your watch is behind the clocks in Toronto. Hard also if I say I want it to be light five hours after we close the office for the day so we are getting out of work two hours ahead of everyone else and turning up in the morning two hours ahead of everyone else --- not very productive. Daylight Savings Time is indeed a better idea.

I like to see it happen here in Canada and USA. It's the 21st century we don't need it. Time (no pun intended) adapt to change.

I know it's for farmers but there won't be anymore farmers in the next 10-15 years (I predict) because all the big food companies (general mills, kraft, con-agra, etc) will be buying up these farm lands and farming will be fully automated.

Which will not only be horrific. But tragically will show that it was Aldous Huxley who was prescient in Brave New World, rather than George Orwell in Nineteen Eighty-Four.

Meanwhile although it is across the border, (but related to #5 and the point that how you view this almost entirely depends upon where you are in your time zone). The Northern New England States (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont) which are quite far east in the Eastern Time Zone quite regularly discuss moving onto Atlantic Standard Time year round (in effect year round Daylight Savings Time).

A good reason to keep Daylight Savings Time, or ever double Daylight Savings Time, is because there is more sunlight. It helps melt the snow faster in the spring.

Back in the 80's Newfoundland went ahead 2 hours for one year.It was great in the summer. Didn't get completely dark until 11. Sucked watching the Blue Jays though. Games didn't come on until at least 10.

For a number of reasons your prediction is wrong

That'd be why there's been no known history of any society surviving without some form of government? Because humans evolved to be self-defeating?

There are pros and cons to ending it that have been debated for decades. Personally, I think DST is far less useful in today's world than it was when it was implemented, so I'd advocate scrapping it.
