The sponsors wanted an England - Italy Final, the Danish coach gave it to them.

Italy isn't the favorite on Sunday. Playing at the Olimpicio, they looked awesome. They played their games against Austria and Spain at Wembley, they looked svitato (gassed), they had trouble dealing with the humidity. The forecast for Sunday, 21 Celsius with 69% humidity.

Why do you think so?
Maybe destroy is too harsh a word, but I think Italy will grind out another 1-0 or 2-1 win.
If not, it might go to PK's again and historically England has sucked at those.

I reserve the right to be wrong though :D

I thought the foul on Kane actually was a penalty, the Sterling one was suspect. Maybe the refs were trying to make up for rhe Kane mistake.
It was questionable penalty but then again watch the replay. Why the hell that danish player put his leg forward like this. He did not touch Sterling that hard but he touched him, and did not touch the ball. But why did he do that there was 3 other Danish player in front of Sterling. He had no other option but to fall. The defender just had to let him go. Stupid play.

I think you are right. Sterling would just have run over the back line or kicked the ball for a corner.

Kjaers own goal was also a bit questionable. It was not clever to come sliding in. It gave Schmeichel no chance.

Over the last 25 years homefield advantage in Euro has been a curse rather then a blessing.

1996: England out in SF
2000: NL out in SF
2004: Portugal out in final
2008: Austria/Swiss out in group stage
2012: Poland/Ukraine out in group stage
2016: France out in final
2020: ??????

Three pricks in Napoli, Gordon Ramsay rides a pink Vespa.

Swingle Singers - nice touch.

England are supposed to be the greatest National in the universe, they certainly don't act like it. Was Harry Maguire complaining that he didn't get a red card. Any common schmoe knows that when going in to deflect a header you don't do it elbows up. Ok, he's the greatest defender in the world, he got away with one...he should have kept his mouth shut.

Shitty thing to do. I hope they find the culprit and hand him a lifetime stadium ban
It already happened in the first half. Højbjerg informed the referee about it. He did nothing.

I think it's inevitable that England wins on Sunday. Their journey in this Euro reminds me a lot of Italy's World Cup run in 2006.

Italy also cheated their win over Belgium. Immobile dived and play acted like he was injured in the lead up to the first goal, which ruined the Belgium defenders positioning and made him unable to block the shot. After the ball went in, Immobile suddenly jumped up and ran to join the celebration. VAR should have ruled the goal out and immoble carded for cheating

The play develops at the 2:00 mark, show me which defender would have blocked the shot but was impeded by Immobile on the ground.

Are you kidding?
Who says you can't touch a player in the box, how long have you been watching soccer?
By the way, Sterling was half way down before he "touched" him, a sterling performance.
If that's a penalty shot, you should be ok with 20 penalty shots a game, minimum.

Why too bad?
Born in Brazil, his father's side is Italian. Played youth football in Italy.

Very similar to Brett Hull situation Canadian born but played for USA hockey.
Or in soccer Owen Hargreaves, born in Calgary, eligible to play for Wales/Canada/England but chose to play for England.
Willian Nylander was born in Calgary but plays for Sweden.

Vermaleen? Reacted to Immoble’s attempt at cheating by saying something to the ref and that split second was enough for him to not get back into position and close the goal scorer down. The TSN analysts Cauldwell and Kilbane did a whole analysis on it, saying VAR should be ruling goals like that out.

Italy is just solid all over. Impeccable composure. Nothing flashy, just a grind it out type of team.

England has more speed overall and those young fellas are quite something and can spring a surprise attack.

Prediction for Finals:
Italy will have more possession. Will have control of the centre.
England will use their speed to rush them on counters. Attack mostly thru the wings.

If they don't get overrun on the wings, I expect Italy to grind out another win.
