I have been hunkered down and hermiting in the US and unable to cross the border into Canada to see trusted friends in TO. Like many, I have been reluctant to hobby in the US because of puritanical attitudes and sometimes aggressive albeit sporadic LE.
At this point because of my age I have been reluctant to socialize in any way without distancing with anyone outside of a very small circle of friends. I think if I were 30 or 40 and a permanent resident of Canada the risk equation would look different. In many cases the older but still working people have the most money to spend because we have had more time to accumulate and are at peak earnings and job security. But we may be the most cautious now.

Out of curiosity I was browsing through traveling escorts on Tryst when I saw an escort's ad stating "Recent test negative for COVID. - Positive for antibodies." Is this the future and the path forward for a pre-mass-vaccination environment? Does this escort really have the right idea that should be prioritized above other responses and tactics?
I am somewhat disheartened seeing political rallies of hundreds of shouting unmasked people following a lunatic's ersatz and ramshackle quest for herd immunity without a massive loss of lives. This is potential destruction far beyond the Atlantic City Casino,Trump Hotel Toronto, Trump University, and Trump Airline debacles. Given the potentially rapidly fading immune responses for COVID survivors, protection from a vaccine could be either short-lived or only partial. A vaccine may not be a universal silver bullet. The US is betting the whole farm on a vaccine - with most of the money going toward newer but never successful before vaccine technologies.
On our present path I expect potential deaths in the US of 2,000 per day by this December and an overall US death toll surpassing 500,000 by the end of 2021. Maybe a re-think is in order. Maybe that thinking escort has shined a flashlight on the pathway out of this morass. My new campaign slogan is "More Testing and More Ass".
